Anyone having trouble receiving there set pieces for different toons? I completed level 70 on my first character of the season and received my first 2 set pieces then completed all of the objectives except for a couple on chapter IV and it told me I had already completed the one named Mercy where you have to kill Zoltun Kulle on T2 or higher but I never received the Haedrig's Gift and don't have any mail message on the bottom right corner of my screen. I've leveled multiple toons to 70 now and none of them have received their first 2 set pieces.
I reached level 70 received my first 2 pieces then started completing the objectives for the others. Once i got to IV which has 2 Haedrag's bags/4 set pieces it said i had already done the one named Mercy and I have not seen the 2 pieces for that nor have i got any mail.
Are people really complaining that they aren't getting MORE free sets?!
Poor Blizzard can't win.
problem is, that they didn't communicate it enough or clearly i think. i, atleast, haven't seen it in the patch notes. there are also no clues in-game that you can only have three bags for this season.
"Be careful, though; each step of the Season Journey will only reward one Haedrig’s Gift (for a total of three bags per Season/one full set of gear), regardless of how many characters you might play in a given Season. Make sure to claim these gifts on the character you want to receive their set!"
That being said, it would've been good to have that information in-game, probably as a popup before opening the cache. I have to admit that even though the restriction makes total sense, I implicitly assumed for some reason I'd get the free sets on multiple characters as well. Not a big deal, once you've got one character at 70 and farm higher Torments/GRs, powerleveling and gambling on a different class makes it very easy to "switch" even without a Haedrig's Gift.
Oh yeah I agree with you, it is there. What I meant by "in-game" is to show the information when you need it (i.e., a pop-up confirmation before you open the Gift, warning you that you won't be able to get this again even if you level another character).
All information can be found somewhere, but information should always be provided when it's needed. The splash screen should inform about features, not about restrictions/limits, because at this point players are interested in knowing what they *can* do, rather than what they *cannot*. Well-known guidelines in interface design...

op, same..
2nd toon at level 70... no mail from previous achievements or for redoing them...
seems rather crappy... plenty of people play more than 1 toon.
you only get 1 free set per season.

My problem is I've only gotten 2 pieces to my claimed free set and I've completed all the challenges for them except 1.
To be fair, it's clearly stated on the "First Look - Season 5" page:
