How do things like Eff. Toxin work with this set? 2000% weapon damage over 10 sec. How does it increase? If you have an ancient weapon with 2k-3k damage will the DoT do 40k-60k times the set damage increase in damage over 10 sec? Why would it be very powerful, Goriki?
I guess having Eff. Toxin and Pain Enhancer as legendary gems (huge DoTs) will be super strong with the good ol' Bane of the Trapped as the third choice.
And I am also kind of curious if the set bonus will fall into the "standard +%dmg increase" category, like straight up damage increasing passives (Pierce the Veil) or debuffs on enemies (Piranhado).
I guess it will be, which would actually mean those party buffs/debuffs and passive skills get less interesting for a "legacy of nightmares"-build. A small 15% dmg boost, if you already have 5000% is like nothing.
Well, probably the idea is exactly this. Debuf skills have an increased effectiveness the more people take advantage of this debuff, while if you lay solo you may want to focus on some CC and better damage overall. The "no set" set has to deal with this thus increasing base damage by a lot and letting us freely choose between our skill.
Not much choice into "get this X damage skill and all the debuffs to get more damage".
If the nightmare ring set becomes stronger than using sets then I'll have to find a new game to play. If sets are going to be irrelevant then why are they in the game?
I posted it in another thread but I will just rephrase it a bit, because it's not mentioned here in this thread I think:
You need ancients to buff the set bonus up. All other 6pc sets are like "on-off"-switches. Either you have it and can play a build or you dont have it and the build is crap. With the Legacy of Nightmares you have a much smoother curve of power, depending on your amount of ancient items.
And my personal hope is (and I assume others will agree) that the set is indeed "bad", if you only have a small number of ancients. If you pass a certain breakpoint, like only missing a few ancients, and the ancients you got all come with some decentlegendary effects/procs, THEN it will outclass the 6pc set-builds. The numbers will probably get changed on the PTR and I hope the goal is to enable the described scenario, which will give some kind of progress:
get lvl 70
play torment
get 6pc set
play high torment/decent greater rifts -> legendary gems, legendaries and crafting mats farming
get items to further strengthen the 6pc build, higher torment, higher greater rift
get ancients for Legacy of Nightmares -> perhaps endgame build?
Exactly my idea, like 10/13 ancients it's the same power as 6pc, and 13/13 would beat the sets + f/r

Barb full pet build! Seriously. You know how hard those Ancients will hit?!?!
Only problem is, how you able to keep the pet up without the IK set?
Use/cube Gavel of Judgment, Remorseless.
Fury of the Ancients, Bracers of the First Men, Cindercoat, APD with Ground Stomp - Wrenching Smash, IK Boulder Breaker, Tasker and Theo, Enforcer, etc
Yeap, it definitely will be nerfed. The question is how much? If it' as on the screen - 75% per item - than it sucks. If smth like at least 200 - it'll still be better that any 6pc set. =)
I'm so making a dual wield primary attack no-brainer-build with Thunderfury + Odyn Son. Chain lightnings everywhere aww yeah
don't forget to cube SoH/schaeffer's/fulminator then you can go thundergod's belt and it'll synergize with wreath of lightning and wyrdward.. aaaaahhhyyeeaaahhh
There is noway the 800% damage increase per item is going to make it to live. It makes every other set worthless.
800% is about right to compete with the set.
Let's just use Zombie Bears Helltooth with F/C for example: 10 (900%) X 2.25 = 22.5 x 520% (ZB) = 11700%
Nightmare with 13 ancient pieces: 520% + (13 * 800%) = 10920%

A dagger dart WD cleared 90 using the ring version. Standard poison dart with zunimassas did not even reach 80 last I checked. Granted, with the augmentations, who knows, but currently the no set rings are absolutely destroying other sets and I am certain that a lot of hidden potential will be kept secret if this goes through.
I've been wanting to make such a barb for a very long time and now, it looks like, I finally can.
just a suggestion on my end since I'm looking to do something similar to this build.. how about incorporating boulder toss? with the bracers, even without hundredth spear, i think it would do huge damage, not to mention, you gain resource fast with frenzy attack speed? though I understand wanting to work around frenzy with oathkeeper and diggers could be counter productive, but since you have simplicity's strength, perhaps you won't need the bracers, not to mention, you have a lot of open skill slots..
edit1: actually, my suggestion would probably work better with the cleave weapon since you'll need to dump fury, but still have oathkeeper in cube that said, since it's a 1 handed weapon, i could still dual wield with hundredth spear
If you need to survive, don't toss to get the 50% reduction from Cuirass
It's going to be an old school generate and dump type of build. Time your toss especially on physical CoE rotation and keep cleaving at fire rotation. possibly use illusory boots to get into the middle of things as well

THIS IS AWESOME.
I have already an idea about the build i want to use - it all depends on what i'm going to get and what i'm able to stack.
Cpt. America is back. Its just insane.

@azakus87
Obviously, the damage will be add to the base damage and not a multiplier. At least that's how it make sense to me anyway.
But knowing the D3 dev team, anything is possible.
This will definitely get nerfed. If by chance that it won't, they probably need to buff other existing class sets.
13 * 8 * 520%
