Remember a few patches ago there was another item that reduces set items needed by 1?
This will come in the next patch and i have a feeling it will be the 1st of many items that will be inventory active ( doesnt need to be worn)
My reasoning is simple
This 1 item will change the current meta game, it will make many new builds, it will give people a reason to farm for ancient sets they normally throw away.
Why will it be inventory active? Because no class has space on there body for another ring or item with this effect. Focus/restraint and convention of elements, are already too powerful to swap out, so the only logical option is either a cube combination to add the affix to an existing item ( seems unlikely) or a small 1x1 square item like the small charms from d2. ( this sounds logical )
Also with a small talk on the charm system and a 1 off starter charm to see how people react will give Blizz the information they need to either scrap the idea or go ahead with the implementation of charms. What do you think MeatheadMikhail? Just a theory but with some of the lost strings from previous patches theres something on the horizon that will change the diablo world. Perhaps the devils hand event that never came? who knows
Charm = more power creep. So we'll be soloing G100 next patch?
Did it come to your mind that D3 maybe just is not the kind of game that you want it to be and you want it to change in a way the devs don't want it to be? The devs are trying to make the H&S experience as good as possible for the majority of players. The majority of players is not putting hundreds and thousands of hours in a game.
It might be a shocker for you guys, but there is no problem with D3 right now. It is working as intended. It's just not intended to have players 24/7 it through the whole seasons. Players, who want to nolife it, are absolutely no priority for Blizzard. If they bring new features, it will be something to improve the experience of the first 50 hours, not the endgame after 500 hours.
Thing is, it's not much different for a casual player. Let's say you play 10 hours/week and a season is 4 months long (if you're not putting in 10 hours in a WEEK then you don't even have time to post in forums or read guide or watch videos, so anyone <10 hours is irrelevant for feedback purposes). After just 1 month of group play you will have all your endgame gear. After 2 months (if you're still interesting in playing) it will all be ancient and well rolled, assuming a single class. That leaves 2 months for even a casual player to do ... nothing. Because casual players don't push leaderboards, and thus there's nothing left. See the issue?
You can solve efficiency to an extent by making followers scale with 100% of stats rather than 20%, then adjust Asheara's accordingly (although it's not even necessary really). As for the relevance of feedback, I meant on this particular topic.
There's something also that everyone should keep in mind, just because people play this game for hundreds/thousands of hours, experimenting with new builds due to loot found, trying new chars, new modes, etc. etc. doesn't necessarily mean this is what the game is ultimately designed for. Obviously, many will call me crazy for saying this, that this is a game that is constantly updated and meant to be played for a long, long time, but it doesn't change the idea that this is not a MMO or something that is getting more consistent expansions, updates, dynamic content, etc. to keep the player base entertained and engaged....
This game could easily be picked up, played for 60 hours, especially on the consoles, then put to the side, never to be played again, or at least until the next huge content addition and/or expansion... You can easily find people who spend $60 on a different game, play it for 20 hours, then toss it and not saying they didn't get their money's worth.....again, especially on a console...
Though this style of game has historically been treated like it needs to be played on a long, consistent basis, maybe the problem is we should adjust our focus and realize maybe that just isn't the way an ARPG was originally supposed to be played..... if you get my drift. I don't recall Diablo 1 being treated as such...
@Dook23, in fact, I seem to remember reading a comment from a dev that was saying exactly that: D3 is meant to be played in bursts when new content is released. Sounds like devs assume that players will move onto different games in the meantime, Blizz own games probably...
That's unfortunate if true, considering how many hours people spent on D2 for example (and only played D2).

I actually think that is the beauty of this franchise....they instill new life into it with patches, then people come back to it.... I've put a ton of hours into this game too, but it was never without breaks. There are many games out there though that you play once, then never look back. But this game, and D2, has that drawback ability that those games don't have...
This patch looks pretty good actually with all the set reworks and the 'no set set'. I guess we'll see in a few days if the 2 piece set is 75% dmg x number of ancients or just a flat amount. If it's the former, it'll open up a nearly endless amount of build possibilities. Let's hope for it..
Did some raw math - 75% x ancient is on scale with the worse set bonuses. 800% is way over the top - i suppose it will settle halfway more or less.
However, a really nice idea that opens up for a lot of things. I wanted to run a Rapid Fire build with my DH and the new channeling spaulders are a bless. Maybe with these rings i can finally put something fun up.
please keep in mind that all sets have some utility and dmg mitigation and with this you will not have that so this will probably be only for group play for dps character, but lets see

Yea the numbers will probably get adjusted a bit, but the concept is PERFECT. Now it just needs to match the damage output of 6 piece sets. And it'll only be a matter of time before some crazy combos come out (most likely with SoH). I remember from a couple PTRs ago when DMO set was first introduced, Frozen Orb had something like a 70x total multiplier and it did well. 100x+ especially with item procs seems excessive.
I remember your video on intro-torment-farming builds with 2handers + DoT legendary gems (toxin and pain enhancer). Think about it with all dmg being increased with those rings...insane
Yup, we'll see when I can get into PTR but damage legendary gems (toxin, mirinae, wreath, pain enhancer) might be making a big comeback. I'm super excited to test it!
And I think you're referring to the 'gem stacking' video from a while back:

I really like this idea, however for some builds it seems cubing Zodiac will be mandatory.
Let's see PTR, well, wait till the leg drop bonus wears off, then I will see.
