I'm on the final journey chapter, gotta clear a lvl 60 solo grift but I can't do it with my barb. So i'm beginning to think I should make another char but I'd like to know which one is best for soloing grifts. My first guess is monk but I saw a crusader once who was really well with those blessed hammers doing huge aoe damage, which is pretty much what i'm lacking right now.
Crusader is definitely way way way more difficult than barbarian.
Usually the answer is "play whatever class you prefer", but this season there are two classes for which it's definitely a bit more difficult: crusader and demon hunter.
Monk, barbarian, and WD are probably close together, followed by wizard, but for that particular 60 solo rift monk and barb are about the same, so you should go with whatever class you already have well-geared. Get more paragon levels, increase your gem levels, and get better gear (in particular ancient weapons offer an insane boost).
Just look at the leaderboard, look at the bottom of the leaderboard and top for each class, things should avg out and give good idea on what not to roll.
Defiantly not DH / Crusader
Monk probably easiest they have the most viable group / solo builds
Well I made it with my barb in 14 mins. But why are you saying crusader is hard ? I know I don't see them often in games, it's all monks, wd and barbs all over the place, but like I was saying, I saw this crusader in this one game, he was insane...
From my previous post on the solo ability of individual classes, it is quite clear that Monk and Bard are the easiest. While Monk is more powerful, Bard is more versatile and a bit easier to gear. WD and Wizard are at the middle depending on playing hardcore or softcore, and DH and Crusader are in general a bit weaker. Of course, group play is another consideration. Since gems, paragon levels and gear are account bound, one can find gear, push paragon level and upgrade gems in group and tune up your own favorite class.
I've done solo grift 55-70 on every class this season and here's my opinion (which is pretty much the same as everyone else....)
Easiest 3 is by far: Monk, WD and Barb
Honestly, if you're having problems with 60 as barb, you will most likely have problems with Monk and WD too.
I've done 65 as Uli and 69 as Helltooth, as far as 60 goes they're as easy.
Hardest 3: DH, Wiz, Crus
The easiest to play and my suggestions to you is, go Ulianas monk and don't bother about mythic rythm. If you want real easy mode in gameplay even go with Broken Promise. You have basically zero things to care about apart from doing SSS on CD.
The easiest has to be Ulianna Monk. I geared up a Monk and with crap gear off blood shards from my DH until I got the set. BTW I have no idea how to play Monk. But after I cleared a GR 25 just to test the set in 4 Minutes, I did a GR 45 the next day in 4 Minutes. The stupid part was that I forgot that my DH had the Bane of the Trapped and Stricken equipped. So the only jewelry sockets I had equipped was a level 50 Golgok.
I did die a lot. 3 times I think, but again, I have no idea what I'm doing. Just punch 3 times, SSS, watch stuff blow up. Dash away and click your Mantra and Epiphany. Then do it again. You can't die during SSS. So the only thing that kills you is running out of spirit because you forgot to click epiphany.
If you push higher, you find out that things can kill you. But you just learn to skip them. I've all ready done a GR 54 and I've done like 10 solo runs with this character. By contrast, I've only done a GR 56 with my DH who had over 300 Hours of play time and geared with near GG Ancient Items. I'm still gearing that Monk to play public games to get my Gems into the 60s. If DH is too tough to complete my journey when they announce Season end. I'm pretty sure my Monk can do it. May last 2 Ancient Items for the Monk are a Fist of Az and the SSS belt. Whatever it's called.
