Hey guys, quick video today discussing the difficulty of zDPS weapon crafting, in this case Born's sword where you want to roll off the highly prioritized min-max damage in favor of CDR, RCR, main stat, and vitality. After well over 100 rolls, I finally got rid of the pesky stat, ending with a weapon that's unlikely to ever be replaced. Enjoy, discuss, and good luck on your crafting!
It's the game's way of telling you that's not a good idea. Also a well known "bug" if you will, one that needs addressing nonetheless!
zDPS in general is a 'bad idea', but in a game with any degree of competition min/maxing will happen, and this is just a necessary evil. Oh well, at least I'll never have to do it again!
Damn. I didn't even know that it was possible to NOT have a weapon with that min/max damage!
Yes, quite hard though, and only useful for support roles. This is min/maxing though, technically you could get rid of RCR or main stat, but then you lose mitigation/resource management. The final roll I got is basically irreplaceable.
I watched the video and as I attempted to roll off the min-max stat, I asked myself, "why am I doing this?"
8 rolls is all it took to get a socket, which im using for gem of ease. Ended up with Dex,Vit, 10CDR and socket whcih i will roll to RCR next time i find a rama gift.
@whostakenmy... why did you do this for crossbows? are you running a zDPS demon hunter?
Keeping main-stat is practically irrelevant in that even in the highest tier GRift groups the heal monk isn't the one really at risk of dieing. Plus 99.99% of players never play that high tier anyways.
It's really more of a theoretical thing than something practical. I think doing a video of rolling a RoV offhand to not have damage range would have been a better example of the same thing.
@Rockitfire, No lol, it's because only your mainhand crossbow min/max dmg is used to calculate your final damage, even if the second hand crossbow adds damage to your sheet dps it is not taken in the final calculation. So you can roll min/max for something more useful, like CDR, elite dmg...etc.

Main stat is still a lot of toughness (multiplied by your paragon armor%, other buffs your party may have, etc). Says it's irrelevant is like saying toughness is irrelevant. If it's low enough, you WILL die. As I mentioned though, this is optimization. Of course it's pretty easy to get a heal monk going, but building it for higher tiers takes work.
