Running carn i get 3 scorpions and an exorcist every 100yards on map with stairs (darts only hit on flat ground)
Playing bear i get maps with holes on the ground or other obsticles that neurters my bears.
Which class is most balanced in reguards to map tile sets and mobs?
I can understand some fishing but the odds of getting a playable map seem really low lately (solo, 4ppl is ez mode). I can understand maybe +/- 2mins based on layouts but its really bad design when you clear a 61 in 7mins then fail one due to the clock (without dying).
You only mentioned trying ZBears and Carnevil, I'd suggest trying Acid Cloud or even Grasp of The Dead. A lot less fishing is needed for Acid Cloud and GoTD variants for the Helltooth set. It seems like you main Witch Doctor from the specs you said you've tried so you should have a decent amount of gear for either spec.
I made the swap from Bears to Acid Cloud and definitely noticed there are a lot fewer "terrible" rifts for the build. Let's face it, everything requires fishing at the top, but Acid Cloud seems a lot less bothered by tight corridors, holes in the tile, bad mob types etc than Bears was.
It does plenty of damage up to maybe 65ish. I've cleared a 61 with it without perfect gear with plenty of time to spare, and it wasn't a particularly great rift. I have no idea if it can be competitive in 70+, but it's fine for moderate solo pushing.
Keep in mind I'm only P580 or so, so I have to imagine the ceiling on the build is fairly high for P1000+ players.
Rank 15 solo Witch Doctor on NA is Acid Cloud. Its damage is fine. Just matters on how you play and how great your RNG is in that particular moment. I have rank 300~ on Solo Witch Doctor NA with Grasp of The Dead as my main damage dealer. Witch Doctor is in a great spot with viable damage dealers. Just test some things out and you'll be surprised.

I would guess WW barb would be less "fishing".
Monk would be close,but same as bears having holes in ground make so you cant hit all targets with SSS.

Acid cloud doesnt do enough damage 60+
