I have been told by some, I should roll AS on my Focus ring. Because of caltraps, voodoo and sader law combined with Gogok the 7% AS is better then the 6% Crit chance. Because Crit chance does diminish heavily after 60%. I have just been trying to find some more opinions and a spreadsheet would really help. I understand where they are coming from because more Attack speed=more Ball Lightning=more DPS.
I guess it would take in many other factors into the spreadsheet to really know what is outputting more damage. But if someone does have something like this, would be highly appreciated! Welcome all Opinions, thanks!
in MY opinion, I don't understand why you would use swiftness gem in a ball lighting build. I think the BIS gem are bott, zei, botp (for the seperate %elite multiplier and also 20% increased damage is nice even though its added to increased %skill damage multiplier). swiftness is mostly used in nats build since the as increase from gogok increases the base weapon attack speed so the the cdr on RoV is reduced rapidly.
back to you question. i would never take as over chc, the only reason people remove chc is in a group when they are capped at 100% chc with, crusader law, 55% chc on every gear, single out, caltrops. MAYBE at this point you can take ave damage/attack speed over chc.
Some reasons not to use Bane of the powerful in Higher grifts 60+
First, its not consistent and also Elites are separated a lot, and
take time to kill in Grifts, Meaning Bane of powerful can have a lot of
down time in between. It can be used, but there has to be more luck involved, also
if you die, that Gem is now being wasted. Just some reasons why Bane of
powerful isn't used.
Gogok is used, because it is getting off more Ball lightnings and reducing
your cooldown for more up time with your Campanion(30%dmg). Also it is
always Consistent and always up. The more Ball lightnings you get off,
the more damage you will do.
The point isn't trying to get to 100% Crit chance, Crit chance Diminishes
once you reach over 60% a lot, just like other Stats have there high
diminishing point, Except for Main stat. I am between 66-72% crit chance
with all the correct buffs in groups, varies between who is doing what and that's with the 7%
Attack speed on my Focus now. Still in testing, But I believe it is outputting more
damage.
A lot of factors and math are involved when you are trying to push out the
maximum amount of damage possible. Attack speed is one of the biggest factors
when it comes to this and knowing when a stat is giving back a diminishing return
and it is time to fill that stat with something else. Just because one thing says it
giving you more damage, some cases it is not. When it comes to Attack speed
and breakpoints. For example, Mammonth Hydra is the #1 Example of this right now.
Sorry that the response is typed this why. Don't know why it did it.

CDR in UE Ball lightning isnt doing much. people don't even use CDR gem in helm, YOU don't use it yourself in your profile as well!. if you cant find an elite every minute, skip the thrash mobs or even fish for a good map or blame the support :D. yes I am talking about 60+gr. Break points has nothing to do with demon hunters in this patch. you keep saying chc diminishes, i dont understand where you are getting it from, what do you even mean by that?
next time you want to say something in general that people dont use botp do some research on the forums. hopefully this quote from wudijo helps clear your head from everything. "In high-end groups, a lot of the time will be spent on the rift guardian. Iceblink will have no more additional value because of a better slow, so what is left is solely the 10% crit chance which is a little bit underwhelming by itself. I suggest to use BotP, since you generally have a higher incentive to kill elites in group runs and will get more procs. At the high end you will spend a lot of the time on the RG, which is why you have to maximize your damage there, which makes Single Out pretty much mandatory. The 15% elite bonus from BotP is very close to a high Taeguk even without the proc. Also, you should not have higher than 55% sheet crit chance if you run with a Crusader because you will cap out at 100% (20% Judgment, 25% Single Out, 10% Bait the Trap). My numbers suggest that a high-end DH will deal approximately 15-25 billion dps on a typical RG."
