No talks about this yet from what I see. This is a completely new gamemode feature and, surprisingly, says it ignores skills/gear and has wacky specific rule combinations. Sounds like fun!
This game is about getting gear and building a skill set around it. This event basically removes that. I understand that it might be some nice small addition, but i would rather see some more "normal" events that "fun" events at this stage of the game.

And what if the Vials you pick up is a currency to buy gear ?
It would beat the crap out of doing t1 in sucky gear alone after just dinging 70.
Having something that is skill based and not just gear based
And why do you need the gear when the way u play doesn't require that gear ?
"Doing the crap t1 in sucky gear" is actually the way how it should be. You gather small pieces to be able to progress further.
I'm not saying this is bad addition, but i'd rather see some more events that are based on both skill and gear than just pure skill (we don't even know if it will be the case).

I never said they should take out the other gearing methods. But adding another sort of gearing which is more skill based than gear based wont hurt the game

Maybe they are the weekly challenges? a weekly premade rift with no random elements, purely based on skill.
