really? so infinite main stat at 800+ doesnt help? 600 plvl compared to sub 100 doesnt help? were talking about paragon points giving you as much affixes as items do. please learn to play this game before spouting out ignant comments. obviously plvl 599 to plvl 600 is not a huge difference, but thats not what were talking about here is it?
Apples to oranges. P100 in a 4 man can be done in less than 1 hour (carry). As for the difference between P800 and P1000, do you have any idea how long it takes to grind that, xp boost or not? Something tells me you don't.
you do realize that the huge amount of time it takes to level post p800 benefits the most from timed boosts right? as in theyll save a percentage of that HUGE amount of time.
also, it would help a lot in the p600-800 range, which is largely considered almost useless. boosts can shoot people up to p400 really quickly (especially with this gr exp inflation), which has huge implications for the bottom half of the leaderboards.

Huh?
Post P800 is more playtime than most people anyway, why are you worried about it?
High paragon (with regards to leaderboards) does not guarantee a top spot. If you don't believe me, look at it yourself. The gear acquired during the playtime matters a lot more, which has NOTHING to do with micro.
P400 is already super easy, xp 'boost' or not. P400 also has NO implications to leaderboards past the first 2-3 weeks.

itll be much easier to get to post p800 with boosts. 25% easier to be exact. same for p400. leaderboards are about who can get stats quickest. stats come in two forms: items and paragon points. these are the facts. i got to 4 leaderboards in season1 at around p400, so im going to say that has huge implications for leaderboards.
Okay, so first, I am going to say I agree on MHMikhail regarding the effect of microtransactions on the actual competetive player base as well as casual gamers.
Getting 25% (and yes, look it up, we are talking about a whopping 1.25 multiplier, and we dont even know yet if that one is multiplicative or additive)
more xp for a few days won't matter in the long run, especially not on softcore anymore.
Besides, we have no clue if timed boosts would be available to season characters anyway. We just don't know yet.
But what we know is, that NEITHER EU/US nor Asia get microtransactions. You can read that up, korean ptr announcement. [NOTE: If I recall correctly it was korean, don't quote me on that though. But there is an asian ptr announcement out there comfirming this.]
So, if none of the regions get micros, who does?
I tell you: China.
China has not yet had it's D3 release and we already know there won't be a CE available and that D3 over there will only have 1 version (no vannila/ros versions, only 1 complete version). Add that knowledge to the actual datamined microtransaction information and you will see, that the whole thing is only in place because, most likely, China will get D3 either as free to play or pay once to play (like guild wars, you buy the game once, play free forever online, but financed additionally by micros).
That, and only that makes sense, speaking in regard of what they are going to offer with microtransactions.
Now, as this has been settled, please calm down, and stop discussing something that will (at least not in the current form) come to us.
We MIGHT see microtransactions, but most likely not, and if, they'll be very different from what has been datamined.
Thank you for reading.
TL;DR: No micros for us, only China, so don't worry.
[Edited for clarity.]
testing in asia --> will probably implement in other regions.
Much ado about nothing. Most of these are likely tweaks that their Chinese corporate partner negotiated for. Squeezing every last dollar with China-exclusive features itself isn't necessarily worth the Studio's time, but they have to play ball with the company that gets to run the servers in order to sell anything in the region.
If other regions get MTX, it will follow on XP2, when there'd be enough of a returning fresh base for it to matter. I imagine such MTX would look very different by that time compared to what China is getting now.
As long as I will be able to earn Platinum ingame, and for that buy more stash space (even if it is up to a 1 month grind time for one stash tab - but probably it will be much less) it's kinda OK.
I don't defend Blizz, also I assume, that us who bought RoS would get some Platinum coz of that fact, and we would be able to buy at least one stash tab "for free" and then grind for Platinum.
Additionally, since the PTR is on US servers, do we have any reports that for Asian players there is already some Microtransaction function to test? So, we could make ourselves a clearer picture on the implementation?
Still, looking at all that together, it might be that you will be able to buy only up to 5 stash tabs anyway (what we currently have) in that China F2P version, so it almost doesn't matter arguing about it anymore, till we see at least some of those features "live"
I support this idea, as long as stated above, it gives players no competitive advantage.
I'd like to buy more styles for my lady Monk. I hate the default short hairstyle, and the only long hairstyle I've seen is on that cool looking cowl with the ridiculous horns on it (GAG). Get rid of the horns already! More hairstyles, more styles for hands, feet, chest, weapons...this could be a huge thing for the game.
I think some of you are missing the point here. Yes it's exclusive to China because their game is different due to the type of government. The game is COMPLETELY different. However, the concept of micro transactions - IMO - IS a 'test' of sorts in China. Depending on how it works out there, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same system being integrated in EU/US. Most likely, it'll JUST be transmogs/cosmetic items at first, then possibly hero/stash slots, then possibly xp boosts (unlikely though).
No one will complain about paying for transmogs. No one. And this is why I feel we're going to get it here eventually, though likely to a limited extent.
You are assuming that extra means more than we have currently. I think that they are paying real money for the stash space that we spent gold on.
