Hey guys, today I want to follow up on my previous 'ideal stash space' concept video because it seems that Blizzard has solved the problem - at least for a few months. With higher mat stacking and Ancients, you can safely get rid of pretty much everything you're not currently using - with the exception of rings/amulets. In this video I discuss the 'new' inventory management and trash some well rolled non-Ancients. Enjoy!
So, you basically made a 5 minutes video about telling that the increased stack size is good, most non-ancient items are worthless (except stuff with percentages) and can be salvaged? Thank you, sir. My life has been changed.
This is the first video from MHG that has not only been unhelpful but displays a certain degree of distance from how most people play the game. The "anything but an ancient is garbage" attitude is not something that most people with jobs can afford to have. If you're playing multiple characters, the amount in stash for different builds (set items + complimentary legendaries) just isn't enough.

He does have a job is called "being a youtuber" i don't understand why people still don't get it.
Yes is kinda a useless video but still he makes good content and if you don't like it you always can go and watch other youtuber or make your own builds based on your knowledge.
While I see your point, the reason I personally have not enough stash space is because I have all 6 classes active. I don't play them all the time equally, but I do play them on and off, and they are all T6 viable. The problem is that if you use one stash page for gems, legendary gems, crafting mats and some other crud, I only have 4 stash tabs for 6 classes worth of gear. This means the 3 sets per class (4-6 items each), some useful legendary armor and legendary weapons (with unique affixes) take up almost all of the other space. Every one of those items I have only one, or at max two if it's useful like a Leoric's Crown. I have a half page for rings, amulets and belts. But I've basically started creating alts so I can offload gear for other builds so I don't need to use the stash.
From my point of view, throwing away items now because Ancients could drop, is not the solution to the problem. I've thrown away many Wrath of the Bone King 2H maces because I'd never see myself use it. And then there was a viable Cold Earth Barb build, which it obviously shines in. Since I don't have Furnaces (I have just the one), it would have still help my build be T6 viable if I had it. Luckily someone found a Wrath this week and gave it to me.
While I can somewhat understand trashing legendaries you don't need or use, I do however see the use of keeping sets. After 2.1.2 hit, I pulled my Monk out from under the dust since it finally was fun for me to play and I had the set ready to go. My Barbarian was also "updated" so swapping out some bits for the set items I had on-hand and it was ready to spin it's way through T6 and GR30.
I also have 6 classes active and had - until now - every character nearly full with items I have been saving. Things like gg rolled elemental weapons (schaefer's, maximus, etc) .. but THOSE I can safely trash because I can craft an Ancient Sunder and it will be better that all of them, no matter what. Your point about cold EQ barb - yea that's cool, except Raekors is significantly faster. So why bother playing a build that's a LOT (not just a little) slower? The 'fun' counterpoint doesn't really come into it, because the whole time you're playing you're thinking that you could be going faster.

I don't play D3 as much as you think I do, especially since half my time is now dedicated to HotS. That said, you can expect to get several Ancients per hour just from T6 rifting - not doing anything special. I'd say every 5-10 hours you will get a useful Ancient. And this is SOLO play. In group you can at least double that number. I think you also missed the point, which is to clean out non-Ancient items in your stash that you won't be using in the near future, because by then you will have re-acquired them in Ancient form, most likely. Obviously you want to keep very rare, well-rolled non Ancients like a Furnace, along with jewelry since it benefits least.
good video...except..you trashed a witching hour? had to be really terrible...? I find making different versions of each class and knowing what to save is key.....i have 3 witch doctors(zdps/jade/pets) barb(not sure why i doubt ill play.) zcrus wizard and fire dh....I think for instance...if u need demon hunter stash space for example....make a cold dh...anyway though I still enjoy your videos. They have been helpful.
It was 37% with an armor and skill damage roll ... pretty bad.
Odd, to me, IF your reasoning is you'll get an Ancient of the same type that's better, no need to keep the non ancient, why doesn't the logic creep in that "Gee, I'l just keep it UNTIL I get an ancient equivalent that MIGHT be better". Same amount of spaces used either way.
I don't see the need for the video, but I'm not paying my rent with it I guess.

I think the point you missed may have been a bit too subtle on my part. I'm not referring to set items. Obviously I'm going to keep my existing M6 pieces and replace them with ancients as I find them. But, anything that's not a BiS weapon, for instance, can safely be trashed. For 2h builds, every spec will either use a Furnace or one of few other weapons (BoP, monk Diabo). However, I happen to have gg rolled non ancient Maximus, Schaefers, etc ... ALL of which can now be trashed because if for some reason I needed them, an ancient crafted Sunder would outperform them.
I'm not making my paoint either I guess. If a sunder replaces a lof them, there's no rush to get rid of anything because you won't even pick it up, except to salvage. You don't need the space anymore occupied now or not.
So, if you have a MAXIMUS that's not ancient, an ancient drop of the same type MIGHT be better or might be a crap roll anyway, but so long as you have your SUNDER, what's the rush?
The set item comment totally baffles me. maybe you're thinking of someone else?
if an item isn't ancient now you can just trash it. Unless you have an item with perfect rolls on all the non Ancient qualities, even then the perfect Ancient would be better, which smart loot will give you in time if you have a perfect non Ancient, so just trash all non Ancient items
Never thought of that but yeah , except for the really rare items I could dump a shed load , make that 2 shed loads , will hang on to a lot of jewellery though . All those unities and SoJ's etc , my calamities and Kriders will take some time to replace .
So , because I haven't logged in for a couple of month and been following it loosely . Has everything now got an ancient replacement ?
Seriously, dude, you can do better than this video, you didnt suggest anything, you stated the obvious, you had some decent post in the past but the relevance of your vids are getting worse and worse, now when i click on one of your post i feel like i've been rickrolled, this was my last click on anything with your name on it. I suggest you put more effort into your work and either explain some game mechanics or make some new suggestions to an interesting topic of your choice.
Thank you for your efforts. I really appreciate every video you make, not only for the content, but for the actual effort you put forth in recording your meaty head and putting it out into the internets. Very few people do this, and even though some of the information is not always relevant to everyone, or even new, I am still impressed by every video and post. I invite all naysayers to begin a youtube channel and gain more than 100 followers and stream content on multiple games and have 100% new and relevant content. Thank you in advance for YOUR efforts VinnyBoy1 and the such...
