I don't think I have seen my fps drop so low then yesterday with a record of 8. Since the 2.0.1 I have had some performances issues with big framerates drops. The worst seems to be in act 3, rakkis crossing and arreat crater. And I know it's not my pc because I have 10 times the requirements for this game. Anyone else had some problems ?
I had some mild lag in a 4 person uber run last night, but my game runs smooth otherwise. That it until I use my DH's vault, it seems to constantly have a 1 second or more delay, and sometimes just doesn't work.
I remember discovering the sound channel settings were messing with my setup during beta as well. I go to almost a complete standstill during that part in Rakkis, and there are a few other areas that get me down into single digits.
I just recently starting running my sound via optical out for my new Astros, so I cranked the channels. That might be the problem. I'll test it out.
i just seem to be lagging more than normal... i used to only get a spike once or twice practically all day, but now, especially the run i just did i was warping everywhere, and my DH doesn't always vault when i hit the button... it can't be my connection because i don't have any other issues otherwise. it started happening once 2.0 was implemented.
I lag so much since patch that I died 3 times with my Barb and there are big delays with my wiz. I can have forked lightening spamming and I would be in another spot just watching and waiting for it to finish so that I can continue to play........it sucks
I tried lowering my sound channel like Deus suggested, it does run better. At least this time my fps didn't drop under 29 comparted to the 8-10 I was getting yesterday.
Thanks for the tip, still inexcusable from blizzard tho.
NVIDIA released a new driver a few days ago, 335.23. That might help, I have a GTX 760 and actually noticed an improvement after updating to the new driver.
I was bored and tried some things tonight. I quit playing the game a few months after it released, so I don't know if it was ever fixed, but turning down my sound channels clears everything up. This was the same issue that occurred when the game came out. Has it honestly never been fixed?
I have an older setup, but when running through Crossing over and over while monitoring my gpu and cpu throughout, neither ever hit even close to a full load. GPU actually does the opposite, and just quits registering any type of load. I was even considering purchasing a new GPU this morning because the issues I was having until I saw this thread and remembered the strange sound issue.
HD 6850, i7 920. Overclocked both a bit and ran through. Didn't improve framerate at all.
Updated onboard realtek drivers - nothing
Sound at 128 - Drops below 10fps to complete lags whenever there are large amounts of mobs on the screen, or one of the demons that pukes adds climbs the wall. CPU never maxes any cores. Also tried forcing the i7 to two cores, didn't do anything.
Sound at 64 - Drops into the 20's at it's worse, but never completely locks up.
Sound at 32 - Fairly similar to 64. Seemed to stay above 30 for a majority of the time. Might have had a more intense situation though.
Sound at 16 - Stays 55-60 the entire time. Just like the rest of the game.
Googling shows people have talked about this on the official forums since release. I have yet to see a blue acknowledgment.

Haven't played since the latest patch though.
