Hi all, before I start I will probably have to say that this is just my findings in the play time of the PTR since public release, I maybe correct and I maybe wrong but don't go ape shit at me for having a opinion and I am not trolling.
First off I like playing the PTR more then Vanilla at this stage, mainly for all the new skill combo's I think we can all agree on that. It is fun to level a new character and game play is more exciting, well done Blizzard on that front. The monsters have some very interesting affixes and when combined with other packs it can be a "" Oh shit '' moment ....great stuff.
I do not really have a main character as such but I do like the cold build of the Wizard, the Frost Ray with Sleet Storm is wicked, it reminds me of Tornado on the Druid in D2. That skill is not mentioned by many and It may not be strong at higher levels but for now on master at LVL60 it works.
The Legendary's create a vast amount of different build possibilities and what is neat is when you find a leg that looks interesting you can change your skills on the fly and try it, thank you Blizzard for getting rid of the skill change restriction.
But that brings me to the first diss-appointment in the PTR, Leg drops are abysmal, I know at the beginning the drops were way too high and so they lowered them. They also admitted the lowered them maybe too much but at this point of time they still not corrected it which makes it hard to do any testing or get a feel for all the new changes. After 1 week of play with the Wizard on various levels I have found 1 leg which was crap. I see people posting all the time in chat legs found but I don't know how they find them.
The other gripe is Amulets, still can not use them and can not craft any as they are all lvl61....WHY? It is probably because the crafted items were initially lvl63 like most of the lvl60 items that people are wearing but how come the Ammy's got the no go on them and every thing else was OK?
Chest and Demonic Vessels....yes those sparkly things that spew out loot....except they don't. Why have them? they only spew gold and little at that, they are chest for pete sake, let them be full of loot. Especially the cursed Chest's, for all the fighting to get them they are full of crap....small reward equals not worth doing them.
Cain's Book does not seem to be needed any more, lower leg drops mean 1 or 2 legs can be ID in inventory, the days of full inventory's of unidentified legs is over.
The biggest gripe is lack of leveling, can not test new rune and skill or items because restricted to below lvl 61, I can't see the reason for that. It is a PTR so why stop leveling? no content from ROS will be exposed, it will just give people a shot at new skills and items.
Maybe there are forces involved beyond my peanut brain can fathom, I am not trying to be negative about the game actually the reverse, the PTR is a vast improvement but could have been even greater, looking forward to ROS and game is looking good for the future.
