The facts are: Paragon will be account wide and paragon points will be introduced.
My question is: How will they transform our current paragon level into the account wide paragon level? Do you think you will receive 1 account wide paragon level per paragon level earned?
The reason I'm asking is pretty simple, it is much more easy to level my secondary chars from para 3 to 4 than to level my main from para 80-81... So if I want to maxize my account wide paragon level (points!!!) in the short term, I should level my secondary chars
I think the best solution would be to cumulate the overall earned paragon experience and translate that into a account wide paragon level. In that case, leveling any char wouldn't change anything since only experience will count, not the level itself.
If you do it by total experience, it encourages people to keep playing with their higher leveled characters (which have higher stats thanks to the current Paragon system)
For that reason I assume it will be done by total Paragon Levels. If/when they announce this, it will encourage people to get each slot of 10 characters to roughly the same Paragon Level, because of the diminishing returns.
You are right by the fact that it would encourage players to use their 10 slots and level as much characters as possible to lvl 40 for example... (after that the time per point might not be as efficient than starting a new char)
However, that would also give the feeling to someone who only have 1 characters that he is penalised if he doesn't start new characters with his 9 slot available. Also, someone who have 5 HC and 5 SC would be penalize due to slot limit since he will only 5 slot available per per game mode.
I have the feeling they will go with the overall experience but I could be totally wrong
