I know I dont have the gold to outfit a class for speed farming Act 3. But for zerging through Act 2 with maybe a little bit of MF gear what would be the best class? Im talking speed regarding both moving around from elite to elite and also killing everything with little to no chance of dieing. Im thinking about giving up my wizard for something else.
For a WW/Tornado barb what should my stat priorities be? Also I know I cant afford gear to jump into Act 3 and start farming so what should I aim for when building gear to do Act 2 as fast and efficiently as possible? What stats should let me comfortably farm Act 2 at the same rate a lower geared person might farm Act 1?
Also should I ignore MF completely and just focus on my real stats or try and use a few MF pieces? I have farmed the last 2 months on my wiz for 5-8 hours a day doing both Acts 1 and 2 with a MF ranging from 250-350 when buffed with 5 stacks and have only gotten a single decent drop. Got a X-bow that sold for just enough to buy GW2 so I dont know how these people are selling $200 items all over the place and walking around in 250+ mil gear. Do I need to start farming like 20 hours a day because obviously farming 40-50 hours a week with a high MF wasnt enough. Or should I just forget about that useless stat and focus on my real stats so I can farm faster?
honestly i have about 295% mf with 5 stacks mf gear, i run through act 3 with my barb with reg gear if i can, i switch mf for the last few hits... clearing elites fast/ w/o dying is the best...sometimes just clearing aact 3 with no mf gear could be more great depending how fast u clear, your sure to get a lvl63 item...more mf will add to the props.... just remember AR is very important.... try to get at least 850+ for act 3 nm.... the more AR the better....i rarely die clear almost all elites, siege , then azmoden
Well, I'm currently working on gear for a WW barb myself and my stat priorities go sort of like this.
You want your crit chance to be relatively high. 45%ish. Crit Dmg on all the gear that can obtain it and your damage shoots through the roof, making clears very fast.
Neck/Ring/Gloves
Crit Chance > All Res > Crit Dmg > STR
Helm
Crit Chance > All Res > STR
Shoulders
All Res > Very high STR. 300 is the cap, so 220-250 and you're sitting pretty.
Boots
12% movespeed > All Res > STR
Belt
All Res > Very high STR (like shoulders. try for 220-250+)
Bracers
Crit Chance > All Res > STR
Pants
All Res > STR > 2 Sockets
Chest
All Res > STR > 2-3 Sockets
Main Hand
High Dmg > Socketed Green > Crit Dmg (LoH too if you can find it)
Edit: Forgot to mention (though it's explained in nearly every ww barb thread) Make sure your main hand is either an axe or mace for the weapon master 10% crit bonus.
Off Hand Weapon
700ish+ LoH > Socketed Green > Crit Dmg (The DPS of this weapon isn't a big deal)
Get Vitality whenever you can fit it in, but all the required stats + vit makes the gear skyrocket in value/price. If you're rich or insanely lucky and can find gear with all of this and some solid MF bonuses, you're golden. I personally don't intend to make a MF set at first and attempt to work it in as I farm.

Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness,
Bringing torment and pain to others.
Your damned soul wallowing in your sin.
Perhaps... it is time to die.
WW barb is strong farmer, but CM Wizard isn't really far behind - when you're geared enough you permafreeze anything and travel at a speed of light becouse of teleport (wormhole) constantly reseting. My Wizard's geared much worse then barb but still can hold her own to all packs there's.

I love a1-2 MF farmers, you guys help keep the recipe prices high. If you had been farming a3 you'd have several 5 mill+ recipes by now. Farming a3+ is the most important thing, not only because of recipes, but also because they undid the nerfed drop rates (when 1.0.3 first came out and they made ilvl rates 2% a1, 4%a2, 8% a3+ it was a nerf to a3+). For a week or two MF farming in a1 was viable but now it's not even close to worth it. Load your follower up with MF and try to have a couple of good pieces with MF for farming a3 but mainly focus on dps and survival for a3.
I do warden+butcher in 5-7 minutes to gather NV stack, then ponies in 10-20 minutes, if I had better dps id do ponies way faster.
The trick is to learn to stutterstep or w/e people call it these days.
I can take on up to 3 different elite (packs) and the trash around em at a time, depending abit on affixes.
Nightmareish+fast Chubbys are what scares me the most.
This is with a pretty bad geared wizard, invested around 1M gold on ah.
Roughly stats : 20k~dps, 30% crit chance, 26 AP on Crit, 20k hp/500~all res.
In my opinion, I think a great geared glass cannon MF Demon hunter, with 4 set natalya's if possible, is probably the best farmer in the game. Whirlwind barbs are great, but require a crap load more gear to be as good as a DH. Whirlwind barb with MF? You would need to spend 100's of millions of gold for the required gear to be a good WW barb that can reliably farm act 3 with MF.
4 set Natalya's is expensive but definitely worth it. Add in MF gear with high dex (not expensive at all really) and you have a great act 3 farmer with high MF. It does require a certain amount of skill to not get one shotted, since the gear you have generally lacks Vit and all res. Once you get the farming down and build up your gold by selling items you find, you can start looking for the expensive gear ie. High dex, high vit, all res and MF.

Maybe you should wait until patch 1.04 before switching? It may turn out that your Wiz will get some much needed speed.
farming should be hacknslay fun.
glascannon farming isnt fun at all. its not about skill its about amount of concentration over time.
tank dh build with around 70k dmg w/o ss and nat is way more fun then 200k ss dmg and getting oneshooted by every white.
Depends on your definition of fun. Spamming buttons while trying to survive facetanking, is not fun for me. Killing things extremely quickly while avoiding stuff is more enjoyable. Plus I don't farm for more than 2 hours at a time due to the fact that I have a job and really can't afford to spend more time. So focusing for 2 hours a day really isn't that draining on my brain. Each to his own I always say.
Also I have farmed without MF and since farming with MF, I will never go back to farming without it. Gear with all the stats you want go for stupidly high amounts of gold.

you can't realistically keep 4 pc nats with 200+ unbuffed MF. Even if its possible you'll probably pay 200+mil apiece for MF nats slots as most of them only have 1 (2 on some?) free rolling affix.
So MF DH you're better off going with a rare hunter cloak with MF and +disc. There's one guy (with no resists mind you) who max mf farms a3 (as in, 20 mf every slot with 18 on both rings and quiver, 31 mf gem in helm), does pretty good, just can't take a hit =)
Personally I use monk (222, no mf gem in, using enchantress not templar), though gearing is a bitch. I stopped even looking for upgrades even though there's some room for upgrades, because searching for 6 stats with only 3 filters just sucks.
How much all resists should I get for Act 2? I have been buying gear pieces where I could find good deals since my Barb will be 60 soon and just keeping it on my wizard so I can see where my stats stand.
HP: 32K
Armor: ????
Str: 1509
Resists: 450-550 but thats with the 40% wiz shield so add 10% more for war cry
Crit: 33% but thats not counting Ruthless and Weapon Master
Crit Damage: 50% but not counting Ruthless or my weapons.
LoH: 584 but again no weapons yet
Would that be enough for Act 2 farming assuming I get another 200% crit damage from weapons and another 800-1000 LoH depending on if it get both weapons with LoH?

It's close to being good enough for a3. You'll want around 400-500 unbuffed resist and at least 1400 loh for a3. You should look for a fast offhand with 800+ loh and other good stats but the dps doesn't matter much (tornados always use mainhand dmg range but tick based off the speed of the last weapon swing) and then you could get a mainhand mace/axe with high dps and maybe some lifesteal even.

This. Everyone and their brother wants a tricked out mf ww/tornado barb. The gear is so tremendously expensive that building one from scratch is out of most people's reach, even those who have a lot of gold will probably find themselves with a very incomplete set due to the items being nabbed off the AH so quickly.
And yes, a cheap tornado/ww barb can do act3 too, but it's certainly not fast.

The most important thing is to be able to move really fast. Even if you have 25% from gear, it's not close to what you get from abilities.
So perma sprint + teleport are extremely good. Farm A3 even with 0 MF gear if you can... A1 is bad news.
