hey d3 community, just looking to get some input from other players.
so during 1.02, blizz announced the new drop rate for 1.03 (the one with act3/4 - 8% ilvl 63 drop)
once 1.03 launched, we all realized act 3/4 drops are ridiculously bad, so everyone is shifting to act1 farming.
my question is, did blizz stealth nerf the drop rate? even announcing the supposed 8% buff? because i read bashiok's post saying that the 'current drop rate is not a bug'
OR, is it that the 8% drop rate is indeed in effect, but it just used to be higher?
kind of confused...
is this 1.03b patch supposed to bring what 1.03 drop rates were SUPPOSED to be? or just limiting the possibility of lower ilvl drops?
Actually it says exactly the opposite, that they are in for 1.0.3b and that it will be later this week.
Due to the quick turnaround, we were unable to make any adjustments to item drop rates for Hell and Inferno difficulty in 1.0.3a, but we do have some changes planned for 1.0.3b (which isn't far out).
I wish they changed the Legendary drop rate as well. It's the one feeling I miss from D2 (I remember seeing a lot more uniques throughout a first playthrough and in farming marathons). Tried a pure MF build (with 300+ MF) and still couldn't find any.
The only thing legendary I dropped is the Bitterness plan (WD mojo).
The random stats on Legendaries should allow them to do it without breaking the AH/economy. And honestly, people are still so horny right now for legendaries that I'd love to see some high level ones and sell them for ridiculous amounts of gold
I'd like to drop a Stone of Jordan as well for old time's sake.
Well what do you know, the non fanboys were right again. Keep calling us tin-hatters though.
I'm on a roll with D3. Pre-release I said:
* Multiplayer increased monster damage a bad thing that will cause people to want to play solo.
* Initial Inferno Act 2+ damage too high and the gameplay will just be 1 shots
and now the droprate issue that the fan boys just couldn't believe without "proof".
At least the design team is keeping an open mind after they made the horrible decisions and are brave enough to revert them. Imagine what D3 could have been without a horrible management team.... wow.

thanks for your help
I also don't believe it takes a client patch to change loot rates
Now it is at 8%
They will up back the % to something decent.
