Sometimes to find the next level quicker people split up, when one of them finds it after slaying monsters on the way, the friend tp's into town, then tele's to their partner correct? Ok well each person has their own drops for monsters but when people split up and kill along they way something could drop that is seen by neither party then tele past those items to get to the next level quicker. There should be an option at the end of each boss that has a screen listing specific items you did not pick up, or did not see when your friend killed the group you will never pass.
Valid point, guess you dont suffer from you things you dont know about though =) Since you'll never know if your party member left something on the ground or not, you might as well skip thinking about it! Assumed that is how it will work, I am clueless though.
Untill you get into high level area's then people would have to always travel together, because something always drops for someone in each group, in d2 people see everydrop therefore nothing was left behind. In this there could be a group killed by one person in a game of four, and three elite drops are left behind hypothetically.
no there shouldnt. and ill tell you why. NO ONE will be "splitting up" in hell or inferno. blizzard has said if even ONE team member goes off on his own or isnt pulling his weight in the later difficulties, the entire team will die. so no we dont need this

This. And Blizzard has also stated that you need to be close to your teammates to get both xp from their kills and items to drop for you. So if you and your team splits up, there are no items nor xp for any of y'all besides what you find yourself.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.

Ive noticed this too, they go way ahead, i catch up later from being in town, and there are random magic items on teh ground for me.Idk what these other above posts are talking about, YES OF COURSE ITS HARD AND NEED FULL TEAM OKAY, BUTTTTTT there are EXCEPTIONS and if these items drop during these exceptions that bad for everyone. I wish this was fixed somehow.

Hmmm no I disagree. If you want the loot, you go to the place where the monster died or just don't split up. If you are worried about missing something, start going everywhere and kill all barrels... that's quite the same logic !
Also... remember that loots in D3 are always random and don't depend on previous events. What I mean is if you miss a rare it doesn't mean you will have to wait longer for another... so as long as you have a steady killing rate, not seeing the drops done by someone else somewhere is absolutely not a big deal.
