Achievements will make some people grind everything. I've seen they will have some like lvl muitlple 60 HC char and thinking how long will it take most people to have 10 60's for that of each class in SC and HC. Now if they had clear inferno on HC on each class that would be hmm little rough and take some time lol.
I know 100% achievements will be like incredibly long to 100% everything like prepatch pvp stuff since im sure people wont have inferno done on every class in HC char. In wow it took a very long time to 100% everything. Makes it for me more of wanting to complete things while grinding gear for months.
So tell me some things you think besides lvl 60 char's, some random 100 boss achievements on each difficulty. Some interesting things you would like to see. Nothing to stupid please.
I'd like to see personally solo each difficutly SC and HC, aswell as co-op games for each.
Maybe something like clear HC solo or co-op with everyone under a certain level like say normal 25 or something since they say normal is level 30ish you go to NM would be something to strive for.
Defeat X boss in Y difficulty without picking up a single health globe or using a single potion.
Kill every monster in X dungeon in Y mount of time
Defeat X boss in inferno without wearing Y peice(s) of gear (Example: Kill King Leoric without wearing boots)
Defeat X boss under Y conditions
Craft an item with X name (Maybe like "Deadly ____ of death" or something sort of funny)
Craft an item with X stats
Complete X event under Y conditons
I would like actual achievements. None of this WoW style achieves when you need to do stuff the wrong way to get it.
More "kill boss x in y minutes" or "kill boss x without taking damage/getting hit by special ability" , and less "kill boss x in the most idiotic way" wow-style achievements.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone. Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind. Cast down into the Halls of the Blind
Defeat X boss in inferno without wearing Y peice(s) of gear (Example: Kill King Leoric without wearing boots)
FAIRIES WEAR BOOTS:
Kill Leoric Without Wearing Boots
Make it so!
or
DIE WITH YOUR BOOTS OFF
Lol, both would be funny. However, no one is going to want to die or remember to take their boots off if they're about to - usually not a planned thing and it would also be an achievements that the HC chars will never be able to get.
Achievements I'd like to see is almost everything listed above.
Maybe also some timed ones? Like finish normal in XX time or whatnot. Basically things you can aim for once you got a proper grip on the game and start a new character.
I want something to work for, but not something that will be 'exclusive', unless HC character wise or character specific. But not something someone will need the CE for or the use of the auction house.
It has to be achievable by anyone who JUST bought the game, no CE, and should not be dependent on things like the auction house.
I have the CE and I intend to sell on the auction house - but achievements shouldn't be based around either.
I say impossible, or nearly so, achievements could be pretty grand.
One bad example;
Holiday Naturist: Defeat Normal difficulty bosses Naked, less weapons.
Everyday Naturist: Defeat Nightmare difficulty bosses Naked, less weapons.
Naturist Bridge Club:Defeat Hell difficulty bosses Naked, less weapons.
Dangling in the Breeze: Defeat Inferno difficulty bosses Naked, less weapons.
Just for that unnecessarily ridiculous challenge that gives achievement Nazi's something to really mash their brains against.
I like the more unique ones, such as having Leoric killing his own mobs with his whirlwind, which was an achivement in beta. That, and some real heavyhitters, such as beating Inferno with each class, getting a HC to 60 etc.
RAWRRR NERD RAGEEE !!!
It's not a whirlwind that he does!!!! He just swings REALLY really strong....ly
I'd like them to be achievable. I know this sounds silly to say. But I really don't like the achievements which ask just way too much of the player. I prefer skill based ones like mentioned above, rather than *get every class to lvl 60 and beat inferno in both SC and HC*. That would do my nut in to be honest.
- When a game asks players to kill one million skeletons or gain billion gold pieces, don't people feel existential angst spending years of their life to accomplish such an arbitrary made-up goal? Their friends will have careers and marriages, travel the world and have breathtaking experiences. Players spend time in their basements trying to get a game to award them a fucking badge. This sort of indulgence is truly frightening.
I like how you think that 'careers and marriages' somehow mean more and have more substance than that of a different goal, such as achievements on a game. When we die our bodies decompose into the ground and we won't remember anything. Personally if I'm on my deathbed I want to look back and think 'man I had a lot of fun doing stuff I enjoyed' rather than 'man I used up 20+ years of my life having a 'career' to get money!'. Everything but what you enjoyed will be worthless when you are about to die, and if anything it's more 'frightening' that someone thinks following what society says you should do will bring them more happiness then doing what they truly want to.
I feel sorry for you sir, because you think life means marking off a checklist that other people have made up so you can look good in other peoples eyes. You may make fun of me because I use a lot of time to play video games and do other things that have the sole purpose of bringing me pleasure, but I guarantee you that if we are both dying side by side, I'll be the one smiling while you look back at all the time wasted trying to please others and gain the acceptance of everyone.
I would love to see some secret achievments like those in starcraft. Maybe something like kill x boss with the environment.
Would love this! Achievements are always more fun when you least expect them. Yet they are as equally as rewarding when you work on them for a long time. That unexpected pop up is so rewarding though lol

Idk about that I did just watch an old Duriel video because the knockback all u did was stand in one place
meant in the corner so u dont get knockback and res gear made it easy with pots

EARLY RELEASE:
Play Diablo III nonstop from May 1st to May 15th, all the while thanking Blizzard for the opportunity.
Don't really like having random popups breaking immersion especially when I don't care about achievements.

I would like one such as beat normal playthrough in one go with 4 players ect.
I still can't believe the achievements have not been released yet though I mean the game is almost out! I can't wait to see them!
