I'm sorry I just have to get this off my chest, but I think this competition needs to be handled with a bit more care. There are so many people that want a key. So many following and answering.
The least they could do was not let someone win who got the answer wrong. A fast reply is worthless if it's wrong. One of the winners of the last question on twitter actually had his answer wrong. Do they even decently check it because on behalf the person who should have been 5th and gotten that key, I feel betrayed.
I understand this is a giveaway. But none the less a giveaway with great importance to many people. Respect us enough to respect your own competition please.
I think the word "important" is far too strong. People want to get into the beta, yes, and many people seem semi-desperate for a key. However, it's just a game, as are these competitions & giveaways. And sometimes mistakes are made. The mistake you describe isn't all that costly; no one loses their life or receives bodily harm, formal complaints aren't written to the government, revolutions and rebellious factions aren't springing up...
It's all being hosted in fun, and when you start taking it seriously then you're putting far too much "importance" on the results.
The part to me that only really matters is that it is correct.
I wasn't even the next person in line to win it so it's not like I'd get anything from it.
But simply reading it would have prevented this mistake. It was a completely different answer.
Amethyst != Saphire.
It's the carelessness with which it happened that bothers me the most.
Mistakes happen, but you haven't even given the organizer / website time to respond.
This post isn't raising awareness, its complaining about something before anyone has had a suitable amount of time to respond.

I actually posted it to them. It's been 2 hours and no response.
I do know that I should notify them, which I did. Don't be so quick to judge.
I don't quite agree. You can't use "its just a game" as excuse. If you put up a competion and have certain rules, those are to be followed both ways.
Let me give an example 1 month ago my phone company had a facebook competion with a slot machine.. get 3 identical symbols and win a Nokia lumia800. In the whole contest there were 5 phones to be won. BUT due to a bug in the code of the slot machine alot of ppl won a phone within the first hour, But non the less the company decided to reward all winners.. and start the contest over after correcting the error and let everbody once again have a shot at winning a phone.
Now we are talking about a beta key... a piece of code that can me generated in the thousands without costs... So ofcourse when errors like this occur they have to be corrected..
With that said the one who got the answer correct but lost to someone who got it wrong.. Should also be granted a key.

2 hours is nothing for a busy day for anyone managing these sorts of things. I would be upset perhaps if I did not hear back in 24 hours.
But regardless, you are still, in 2 hours, on the forum, in a public domain, complaining about the faults in a system, based solely on a single mistake.
