I played Diablo 2 online for years. All in all had around 30+ characters over level 80 and played solely PvE. I have been incredibly excited for D3 since they announced it, but I have been trying to distance myself until I get a beta key in an effort not to go crazy with anticipation.
Well, I've given up on waiting for a beta invite to start learning about the game. As such I am very far behind the curve and getting lost reading through the forums. It was my thinking that it would be great to have an "acclimation" post up so people who are looking into D3 for the first time have some kind of a grasp of what is going on in the game/community.
One post, 2 paragraphs max, state your favorite aspect of D3 so far or what you think the most important thing is. What is your favorite class and why? How do you feel (from our limited perspective) Magic Find is going to be balanced between classes? Is the skill system satisfying your wants and desires?
I sneak around the offical forums and some of the fan sites, ive watched some videos of game play but honestly I have strayed away froma ny real detail about the game. I would have to say I am looking forward to playing the Monk or maybe Demon Hunter. I normally play melee characters in MMO games so I was thinking Demon hunter to play a ranged class in this RPG.(not saying D3 is a mmo) She has a lot of cool looking moves and I love the kiting abilities. Yielding dual crossbows and going knee deep in blood is a very fun thing to think ok, that being said, after looking at the monk some he seems like a lot of fun. Doing all the karate basically plus the ability to heal, which is pretty much a new concept for the Diablo series. So I am really torn on the two.
I used to pvp a lot in Diablo 2, mainly just the dueling. Griefing wasn't my thing unless someone was being a complete jerk about something and need to be put in his place or forced to leave the game. While Arenas look intersting for Diablo 3, I will most likely stick to just PVE in this game. I enjoy the story line and after reading Book of Cain I can't wait to keep the story going with our two lesser evils currently trying to wreck havoc in this upcoming game. Seems like it will be a lot of fun and I can't wait for it.
