I have a question I am not sure if it has been asked yet. I like the ability to play games on one screen of my computer while having the other open to read/send emails, watch the news, or even just be logged onto AOL so I can tell my friends to get on Diablo 3. In the past, I was never able to get this to work. What are the chances Diablo 3 will have the ability to use one monitor for the game and the other for whatever we want to use it for? I would LOVE to see this added option!!
I do remember windowed mode, but there was something I hated about it. It forced you to use your primary monitor, maybe? Or was it the mouse would get stuck and you had to minimize to move to the other screen? I know it was an option, but it never worked flawlessly for me, or even close to.
It should work on D2. actually it's not depending on the game. You could set the program to window mode, by such as adding "-w" in program launcher icon. then you could move the window to everywhere you prefer.
Dual screen support would be cool, since I run dual screen setup too. Admittedly I haven't looked at whether or not SCII has dual screen support, but if it does I don't have it set up. SCII runs on my primary in windowed mode, while I can't move the cursor out of game, I can alt-tab and use the other screen no problem, so at least theres a workaround
Hmm, I think Sexton is correct. The blue post answer is for people wanting to play D3 on both screens at the same time. I am looking more for 1 screen Diablo, and the other screen whatever I want. Also, I want to be able to flawlessly move the cursor out of the screen while still being able to play. I'm really hoping they get this done!
The video options in the beta are either "Fullscreen", "Windowed", or "Full Screen Windowed". If you choose Full Screen Windowed, it uses your main screen for the game but allows your secondary monitor to have anything on it. If you click outside of the game, it doesn't minimize it or anything.
I am not sure about stretching the window to cover 2 screens though.
I think Bashiok said a couple weeks ago that D3 will not have the option to span over multiple windows and thus enlarging your actual view on the field, it would give those players an edge over others, so the best you'd be able to do is stretch it out, which doesn't sound like a good option to me. So sticking to one screen fullscreen borderless and mail/chrome/tv/anything else on the other monitor ftw

That is awesome. Thank you very much for the update! Now, if I could ever get into the Beta that would be just grand......
I guess I am assuming they will keep that option for Diablo 3. However, if you say all Blizzard games have it then I would guess they will leave it. I've been out of the loop since Diablo 2.
