I mean, let say a no-name idiot is online, just standing around doing nothing within radius of drops and experience gain. How could that benefit the rest of the fighting team? And.. isnt there any "vote kick" when majority of unknown players can kick a player that are leeching?
I don't know, but then again I've been arguing long and hard about how leeching is a big issue that shouldn't be overlooked the way it has been so far.
Long story short, I believe MF/GF gear simply shouldn't be transferred from D2 to D3 without any changes because of the personal drops and all.
Also with this system i can gather as much MF i possible can on a character then join a game and let the rest kill for me, the loot is then shared with the rest.
Friends people who pull their weight, make private games and invite them? You always had useless people trying to ninja shit off the ground in d2? its no different, and you couldnt kick them there. Well you could hostile and kill them but

I don't understand why people would leach, though. AFAIK, there's no [Follow] mechanic; in order to leech you'd have to actively click and follow other characters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but It's not like you can follow/afk and go have something to eat, come back and be at a boss. Not to mention, even if there were, you'd miss every single drop up until that point.
They're actively participating in their character's movement, I don't see why they'd just stand there and let everyone else attack. Besides, all they're doing is making things slower for themselves =/
I have not seen the vote kick system in the beta, but I hope there is one for release. It would be neat if these forums made it mandatory to display one's battle tag, so I can start building my ignore list ahead of time. The people here who would leech are so obvious.
Pretty sure there will be a vote kick, and 100% positive in an inferno 4man you're going to need everybody doing everything they. Hell I'm pretty sure you'll start seeing gear checks for inferno runs at town lol. You sporting all your MF gear? gfto and go play in a single player game =D
People who are worried about leechers or want everyone to do their equal share should just stick to private games with friends. Public = a box of chocolates, you never now what your gonna get. If you prefer a more structured game with certain requirements you should stick with private games. The only time I plan on joining a public game is if none of my friends are on. I will join a few games find someone who plays like me then add them to my friends list and see if they want to make a private game.

Reason for me asking is because I just heard about D3 might be region-based. My friends are from other countries. And I do not like leechers.
There was a blue post not too long ago and you can play in any region. You are only forced to use your region that you live in (might be the region the the game was bought) for the RMAH. As far as I know that characters can only played in the region they are created.
I do not find anything wrong with leechers. I quite often like them since it makes the game more difficult and more epic. I just wish I could use the players setting and boost it up to 127 or even higher. Yes I am crazy
I do think Infernal is going to be difficult but I do not think it is going to be that hard if you plan on your gear and use wise game play techniques. I see more issues with my internet connection being the death of my HC characters since the speed goes from .00001 kbytes to about 1 megabytes a second and it jumps all the time (internet data stick). That is the best I can aford and a land line option is not an option. I will still be playing HC since that is the most fun mode to play as long as I do not find the first run through on normal boring or if Torchlight 2 is released before since that game is starting to look more Bad Ass to play than Diablo 3.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
I like how some peoples advice to combat the leecher problem is to simply not play multiplayer or use matchmaking, because that's not stupid at all. Now, call me crazy but a better solution would be for Blizzard to come up with a better system to prevent this type of behaviour so honest players don't have to miss out on half of the game.

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.
I am saying don't play PUBLIC multiplayer games if you don't like playing with people with different goals as you. "Honest Players" should have no problem getting invited to multiple peoples friends list and once you have so many friends, instead of going to the public games tab you would just look at your friends list first and see if there is a game with an open spot in it. Thus completly avoiding any possible contact with a leecher.
Also not a fan of Vote to Kick, what if in the middle of a run you kill a main boss or unique and the majority kicks you before you are able to pick up your loot.
uhm.. lol? loot isnt shared or increased in co op. theres zero reason to kick someone for any other reason then because they suck or are leeching
So naive, have you never played online games before? People are bastards, and they would happily kick someone just for the "LOLs". For example, 3 friends + a random, "Oh lets kick him at the boss", vote kick initiated and bam, the random is gone for no other reason then the friends are childish assholes.

Yup, well it's the same problem but turned around. It's a matter of who you are going to "trust". Will you trust everyone to play along like you are supposed to not abusing and leeching on your party members, or will you trust players to be responsible with the vote kick option and not abuse that? I'd say the second is the preferable way since that at least gives players an option to react to abusers. It has to be implemented carefully though and continued abuse of the vote system should be punished.

I personally like the idea of allowing quests to be completed anywhere, but if you're not actually in range you don't get any XP or gold, that would at least stop the people who just want to sit in town and do nothing. Also, I would make it so the mobs HP doesn't increase unless the other players are in range, so leechers wouldn't make the game any harder.
