I would post this on the official Battle.net site if I wasn't at work... Sadly, I don't have my CD key with me. I just figured I would get some feedback on it from this site.
I feel like, in order to save time and keep things more organized, Blizzard should make it so that the material you create when breaking up items are kept like gold. When you pick up gold it does not consume an inventory slot, when you break apart items or find the materials on the ground I do not think it should take up an inventory slot.
I always find trying to keep track of these things in your inventory is a major pain in the ass. I think it would be much easier if it were just kept like gold as a running total that displayed on the bottom of your inventory or in a separate crafting window that you can pull up by pressing a hot key.
Let's just say that the materials (even though I'm sure these won't be the real names) are called wood, copper and silver.
In a seperate window it could display as:
X Wood
X Copper
X Silver
X Material 1
X Material 2
X Material 3
X So on, so on.
X = the amount of it that you currently possess... Rather than making you store it in your inventory. Not only is it annoying to have to keep track of it that way, but it is annoying to have to move it around if you need to make space for other items, etc.
hmm well if you didn't notice on the video the essences you get stack up to 20 i do believe that's what i saw and also it only takes up 1 box on the inventory so im fine with it but I can see what your getting at, I kinda like this idea this would make crafting better and the game better also you can have some more room in your inventory
also you can have some more room in your inventory
I too don't want to be moving around materials which I'm probably always going to have some amount of in my inventory, so making an extra bag or having it displayed elsewhere is a good idea. You definitely shouldn't be looking at this as beneficial because of the extra inventory, because frankly I don't care if they removed an entire row of inventory to make up for a display of these materials. It's the organisation we're talking about, not the number of slots in your inventory.
By the way, I'd still prefer a display over a tabbed materials inventory section.

Easier way is that theres just separate tabs in your inventory. Normal(bag watever), Quest items, Crafting items.
That would be the most ideal imo
Kefka, Final Fantasy VI
