Searching the web I came across this: http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/12/blizzard-rep-co.html
I will copy:
"In response to a post on the official World of Warcraft forums asking about Blizzard's recent job listing seeking a "Lead 3D Character Artist - Next-Gen MMO," Blizzard Community Representative Drysc confirmed that Blizzard is, in fact, seeking employees to help them work on "an unannounced Next-Gen MMO."
Drysc then specified that this new project was not an expansion for the current World of Warcraft universe, leading many in the thread to speculate that the project could be anything from the oft-whispered-about Starcraft MMO to a persistent world based on The Lost Vikings or Blackthorne.
After contacting Blizzard for further information on the title and receiving Blizzard's customary stoic, PR-backed silence, we're left with nothing to do but wait for more information on the title (and pray to our respective deities that it's not an MMO based on Blizzard's 1992 hit Dvorak On Typing)."
To be honest a Starcraft MMO would be a lot more interesting than a Diablo one. Diablo 2 is my favourite Blizzard game but the main playable characters (sorceress, necromancer etc.) aren't nearly as cool as Protoss, Zerg and Terran.

Are you really dumb enough to think that they wouldn't add new characters? Besides, the Protoss, Zerg, and Terran are just futuristic emanations of the same powers that are in Diablo.
Will the new game, possibly a Diablo one be MMO?

Here's the thread in the US WoW forums:

One before last post of the page.
An MMO, which is not an expansion to WoW, which we haven't heard about.
We know SC2 was announced but it wasn't an MMO.
So, if Blizzard didn't change their plan and Drysc is right, then the new game will probably be an MMO, Diablo MMO perhaps?
That only leaves...
pretty much anything. They could make WoW2 (sequel, not an expansion) and technically Drysc would still be right.
