Today I want to present another fun and efficient T6 wizard build - the elementalist, using 6 damage types (fire, lightning, cold, arcane, physical, and poison). Conceptually the Tal Rasha set is pretty cool and I finally made it work - quite well for T6.
Using Frozen Storm and Illusory Boots, you can run through trash mobs (tagging them with Toxin and Pain Enhancer DoTs) and use black hole/5 meteor combo to 1 shot elite packs. With Molten Impact and the automatic arcane meteor, a single volley puts out well above 10,000% weapon damage.

You wouldn't use grand vizier with this build because your meteor will be Molten Impact, which you can't spam, and which Tal's also can't trigger, and you won't be spamming meteors on trash anyway (you just tag and run through them).
I am playing with this, converted my old Cold Wizard for it, and I DON'T have a 2 hander yet worth using so I'm using the freeze ray piercing off hand and a good 1 hand damage sword (that does arcane damage on it's own). Thought about a Shard of Hate for more procs....
I know it's not where you're at but still have to say it IS fun. I always had this INCORRECT notion that Tal's was on a timer and no matter what element you used, the 8 second delay was in force. Glad to know that it's separate per element, so theoretically you have a meteor every 2 seconds (avg). OR you can spam a target and hit them with 4 meteors almost simultaneously , quite nasty and fun to watch.
So I'll be working this one up through the gear a bit farther and actually having fun doing it.
The idea behind Grand Vizier is to buff the Tal's meteors, not specifically Molten Impact. You advised picking %Meteor on boots/helm, and Grand Vizier rolls with a 25-30%Meteor damage on top of the 40-50% resource reduction. It's a good alternative when you don't have Furnace, but the question is, can the 30% meteor boost outperform the damage range of a 2-handed mace? I'd say it's an improvement for the combo, but obviously a slight damage loss for the white mobs.
EDIT: yes it could work if you don't have a Furnace. Thought about it and it's probably the second best option behind a Furnace. I forgot it was also 1.0 aps.
