Switched to firebird recently and was able to progress much further. I have close to the perfect gear equipment, but pretty bad rolls on almost everything. So basically, I'm needing to just get better rolls on my gear (and a furnace still!!). I can clear T6 Rifts and getting up to about 28-30 Grift. I know I can get better with more practice, but I also know I need and want better gear long term.
So whats the fastest way to gear up? Should I be doing T6 rifts, or doing Grifts? Also, is it better to always do the highest Grift I can, or should i intenionally be doing lower ones to clear them a little faster (and get more Grifts out of a single "trial key").
Lastly, I have two unitys, but I do not have the relic to give my templer 50% damage reduction. I'm still using the unitys, but i'm guessing this is a mistake, as I'll be kiting and my hp will drop 70% out of the blue with nothing hitting me. Does unity actually hurt if you dont have the damage reduction relic??
From a recent test showed on this site, greater rifts (lvl25) seem better for items than rifts t6. However, you need trial keys and have to do normal rifts for that. Numbers might change in parties and map layout (splitfarming rifts for faster clear might give more drops per hour). Test also did not include trials. So just farm what you feel like I guess, it is pretty balances (more xp in rifts, and paragon is not bad either).
For the unity: do not use it without the relic, your follower will be in the fight and kill you (had that happen in a grift when I forgot to move the relic between chars, unity is on follower for both chars). The relic makes your follower not take damage, else unity works both ways.
Yes double unity without the relic can backfire with melee mobs while you are kiting. Unity trick is not really needed until ~GR level 35.
Other than that getting Firebirds ain't too hard nowdays, it's just down to RNG of items dropping or not. Kadala also helps a lot with it. So just do the thing that is the most efficient to you. There was some evidence of GR's resulting in more legendaries overall, but that was only 20 runs and didn't include trial times. In anycase, best advice I can give you is that play in a 4 man group in either GR's or normal rifts based on your preference. You will get the 6 piece eventually. And yes on what GR should be done, it's based on how efficiently you can clear em(around 5-7 minutes tops).. when you start getting to the 10+ minutes ones, your legendary amount goes way down.
