Hi there, I've recently picked up a SOJ with 15% fire, 420 intel, 25% elite dmg and a socket and ive received the recommendation to reroll the int out for either ChC or ChD, can someone explain the reasoning behind both the Crit stats outweighing intel?
You can look at how much each stat is worth to your character using diabloprogress.com. Here are MY stats as an example....
Elemental DPS: 1,472,308.20 (Fire)
1.00% +Fire Skills Damage gives you 10,668.90 dps
1.00% Critical Hit Chance gives you 21,299.43 dps
1.00% Critical Damage gives you 2,441.79 dps
1.00% Attack Speed gives you 12,167.84 dps
100 Intelligence gives you 16,104.88 dps
So 420 int is worth 67,640.496 dps, 500 int is worth 80,524.4 dps, 6CC is worth 127,796.58 dps, 50 CHD is worth 122,089.5 dps for me. The other thing int gives is all resist but for most high rifts its not too important plus int can be made up in paragon levels as you get higher.
So for most people CC and CHD are higher because there are only certain items that can roll it..rings being one of them. You can get int on everything.
While CC and CD might give you more dps, don't forget that Int also gives some AR. If I dropped 450 Int, I'd take about 2.5% more damage from all sources, for about a 2-4% dps gain. You might still prefer the dps, but it's something worth considering.

Valid point, but at some level of greater rifts, that 2.5% more damage reduction means getting 1shotted or getting 1shotted even harder While the 2-4% more dps can mean that 1 shot is not being fired at you :).
But totally right that you should take it in consideration for perfect balance.
On the other hand, pretending you play enough, your paragon will give you all the int you ever need, while cc/cd will still have a cap.
And as a side note (maybe not used as much now as in the past, but coming back for dh already): there are many "on crit" procs in the game. Think about apoc, nightstalker, but also that bleed legendary gem, ... So crit chance might do more than just damage, at some point
