So a ramaladni's gift finally dropped today on a clanmate, and he was nice enough to share it.
Now I have to minmax the rest of my gear, and the biggest two questions I am struggling with are:
1. Is my unity really worth running it over a well rolled RRORG, and running a cindercoat.
2. Do i require fire damage % on an amulet over 10% crit, or maybe even a gem (latter one I am very hesitant about)
Any answers are very appreciated, or also other pointers about gear improvement, or paragon point placement.
I think I speak for every Wizard without The Furnace. We hate you
Re-roll all res on belt instead of life %. Get an amulet with fire elemental damage, CC, CHD and a socket or Int, CC, CHD and a socket. Firebird Gloves with int/vitality, crit, and crit damage.
Unity is required for solo play. You will not be able to push higher Greater Rifts without it.
Other than that your gear is pretty awesome and you should be able to push a 41-42 greater rift with luck.
So on gear alone you've got 93% +Elite damage. That means the secondary from Bane of the Powerful is a relative 7.7% damage increase against them (and nothing against non-elite). The primary on BotP is also going to be significantly less than 20% when up due to being additive with other common buffs. Due to this, I would strongly suggest swapping out BotP for Bane of the Trapped and making your Templar into a crowd-control engine by swapping Loyalty for Intimidate and equipping a Thunderfury to keep uptime very high (especially on Rift Guardian). Bane of the Trapped is in its own buff category and therefore multiplicative damage - when it says you do 25% more damage, you actually do 25% more damage.
Thank you both for your responses.
I followed each of your advice, and especially making a templar into a CC machine plus swapping the BoP to BoT really made a difference.
Templar being able to cc, plus BoT, makes dreaded winged assassins also alot less of a problem.
I played around with some builds, and finally found one that I felt comfortable with and ended up going 12:50 in 39 today (rank 101 solo), so not bad.
The 40 rift had very low density, so tough luck there.
The build I am using, also feels to be just about right.
Running without hydra lowered damage to much, plus it made trials a proverbial PITA.
Safe passage wormhole with illusionist also feels very broken, makes up for a bit weird gameplay, but you an baiscally run around with an extra damage reduction most of the time.
Im confident that with a bit of luck 40 will be easy, and 41 in reach, ill keep ya posted
