Just had it drop, my clan member is saying to reroll lph into % damage, im thinking if I can get a near max damage roll it would be nearly equal damage and keep the lph, I will be adding the socket with a gift. What do you guys think? Really dont want to mess this up
I would re-roll attack speed of for 10% damg, attack speed with that weapon is pretty bad if you gonna do hydra. Put a gift on it, and u get more damg and get to keep the loh.
"Correct! All runes of the Hydra skill take Critical Hit Damage and Critical Hit Chance into account, and most of them (except Blazing Hydra) can deal Critical Hits.
Blazing Hydra is the only rune where CHD and CHC are rolled into the attack itself. Instead of producing Critical Hits, Blazing Hydra calculates CHC and CHD as part of its regular attack damage. It’s also the only rune that incorporates Increased Attack Speed, which increases its damage per tick.
Although the other runes don’t currently benefit from Increased Attack Speed, it is something we want to implement in the future."
If they're going to be adding attack speed scaling to hydra's in the future, I think it would 100% be worth keeping on it

Take off the attack speed. Serpent Sparker isn't all that hard to find, and who knows when they will fix it? Probably not for months,
Why take off the attack speed...it doesn't lower the min/max rolls...Rolling higher damage would be better than moving the attack speed for % damage, or atleast the lph for % damage

Like we just discussed. Need more? Three reasons:
a) Hydra doesn't scale with Attack speed.
LoH is better then 6% IAS
c) IAS does not scale well with quite a few Wizard spells, like Blizzard and (meteor? Blast?) and scales really, really badly with Channelled spells like Torrent, Ray and Disintegrate.
Reroll the damage range. Like you said, getting 10% damage is almost equal (just slightly better) than near max damage range rolls. This way you get to keep both the ias and the lph while maintaining the same min/max damage outcome. If that hydra ias fix does come to pass, then you will still have that affix as well. Lastly, I like being able to pick the damage type for elemental exposure.
Grats on the find!

Even if the IAS more or less equals 10% weapon damage, which would be pretty close, some, maybe even most of Wizard spells dont really benefit from that IAS. Blizzard, Meteor, EB, CHanneled Spells..
