(No, but seriously, they're going to buff a spec that's already fairly viable - MM conflag - by doubling the damage output it does simply by getting a pair of pants? Which, I might add, has not been an important slot for MM conflag unless you ran with Vyrs at the same time, which I personally don't cos giving up magefists/cindercoat and ice climbers sucks).
This is a Signature spell. Signature spells are free to cast.
Launch a missile of magic energy, dealing 170% weapon damage as Arcane.
MM are not a resource generator, so it shouldn't work with MM. It may with Prodigy, but it will need to be tested on the PTR.
DO NOT DENY ME MY DREAM. I SHALL NOW GO AND CRY.
Hadn't even really considered MM not to be a "generator", but it's true they say it's a "signature spell". In which case, this might be the reason they buffed the base damage of magic missiles (to balance with other classes having depth diggers available)? Either way:
BOOO :(.

YOUR DREAM WILL RETURN.
Saw a linked pair of depth diggers on PTR, the text said "Your Resource Generators and Signature Spells deal 98% more damage."

YES! IT LIVES! OH MY GOD IT LIVES!
Already doing 7-8M crits on mobs and 12-14M crits on elites with my missiles. So one cast of magic missile = potential 75M dmg to a boss. Notbad.jpg
Pair that with the new seasonal Legendary that removes Teleport's cooldown and some AP regen for ultimate godlike feeling. Nothing can touch you. You can be everywhere, and kill everything.
Does MM Conflag do triple damage and have its dot stack multiple times per hit or does it just refresh the dot?
It stacks... that's why MM+Mirrorball is so insanely OP and why everyone's using it for weeks now. It has always been the top spec for max damage, and now it's just way above everything else. Unless all of the sudden something insanely OP is discovered on PTR, but doesn't seem like it based on the fact that nothing else was changed significantly.
Seems like the only solution is to release a few more "signature spell-altering" legendaries... And maybe a buff to some signature spells. With what exists now I feel like spectral blades and electrocute may be close to having some kind of enjoyable build that can compete with the power and simplicity of mm/conflag.

Just not quite yet
I think what we need to see is serious damage buffs (direct or through items) to most wizard spells. So many wizard spells (AP spenders) are absolutely useless on T5+, let alone Greater Rifts above 30.

And/or lower their AP cost. Blizzard costing 40 AP is kinda ridiculous. Arcane orb which costs 1/3 of our resource pool does less damage than one hit from a zombie dog. Something is way out of wack.

Magic Missile
Legendary Power added
All resource generators deal 80-100% more damage
