Hi
Just read your comment, and for a mage is harder to farm further torments like t5 or t6. but if u do well in t3 or t4 its k to keep farming there, its not a big dife. doing higher tomernts. and its k your gear. u should change ur SoH since it got nerfed some days ago, also u can try to change ur bh for a familiar with + 10%dmg. should gives u more dps, since the bh skill last few secs and his cd is kind of high ... !! well GL

I got rid of Spark Orb and put in WoF - Static
Changed Electrocute to Arc Lightning
Force Weapon now has the Electrify rune
Due to my high AR I already have I switched the Force Armor to Pinpoint
T3 is faster now and T4 became easier.
Just have to take more care from the arcane sentry as I am close to the mobs now due to the skill changes. It also seems like I pop BH less than before. Might try it with meteor. Or any other suggestions?
Besides that, let's continue the grind for a better helm/SoJ and more.
Sorry to hijack the thread a little, but i'm curious how often are you guys dying without shields? And how much time do you kite around?
I have been having some problems in T2-3 and i can only do them if i use a build with a lot of shields. Or it just involves so much kiting that T1 is a lot better for me.
I have 6-700k sheet dps, 1.1-1.2 mill depending on skills , 1700 AR , and 400k life
My solo build is arcane oriented, either melee (blades + shields) or medium ranged with MM + cascade. In that build i have like 70% arcane dmg, but only 250k life , same resistances. I'm currently looking for a mirrorball and aughshild (don't have the pattern yet)
Maybe u can have many mage builds, all is up to ur gameplay and style, and have good drops
Here is my profile, this is how im playing my mage so far, farming a lot of rifts actually, but im not getting what i want .. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/dktryps-1864/hero/42954743
Gl guys. and pm if u need some advice or some tips i could help u.

Let's hijack the thread back :-)
I never used a shield on my wizard. And the days of kiting are basically gone. On T3 I can faceroll most of the mobs. On T4 I need to reposition myself sometimes. All depends on monster affixes. But the classical kiting is gone since a long time (at least for me).

If I were you, I'd ditch prodigy for audacity. I would also craft some asheara's pants and boots instead of your cain's. I would also stay away from apoc and try getting WoF/Electrocute bonus on the source...
Your shoulders do not have any mitigation stats, I'd try getting something with more armor and AR.
Your amulet has no CD and bonus to lightning is rather low/
Instead of wormhole, you can try running calamity.
I will go with the Captain Crimson's set first and see how that goes instead of Cains. I was thinking ditching Unvawering Will for Audacity or even Blur. Or as you say Prodigy. Have to make some test runs. Definitely need a better helmet and amulet. Haven't found one yet tough, all hail the grind!
I also tested the Wyrdward but it is not as good as having the life drain from the Bul Kathos. The increased stun chance is not noticeable and paralysis does a good enough job.
Here are my stats and Paragon point distribution as of now:
Note: On T1 I usually use Scramble and on T4 I usually use Prismatic. But for the purpose of data collection I did not switch any skills.
Looking at above it seems the best farming for me is in T2 at the moment.
On contrary to other earlier posts, SoH is not useless. In fact it's my hardest hitting single to double unit skill I have when paired with the enhanced electrify damage from WF. You just have to find a skill that has a high proc coefficient.. which is right now an unruned shock pulse at 91% proc chance. This is near close to the old 100% Soh proc.
Also if you want more stun chance for single uber boss or elites... Electric hyrdas paired with your shock pulse attack almost makes a near stun lock situation.
Lastly, I don't like to use unwavering passive on my guy as in higher torments its about mobility to survive so I never get the standstill bonus. Plus I cancel my waveforce animation so the passive doesn't benefit my methods.

Interesting. I was wondering why there is no rune in your Shock Pulse. I might give this a go.
Personally I have not found a better weapon for my wizard. Still hunting for a TF tough.

The way I play I get the benefits from Unwavering Will. I mostly stand still and teleport out if I get in trouble.
Some updates:
I swapped my Cain's for a Crimson set and must say it outperforms the Cain's on T4. In T4 I have way less trouble now due to the +2000 LifeRegen and even more AR (although I am hitting the soft cap hard). I will try T5 soon.
When running T1-3 the Crimson set allows me to replace Blur with Audacity. More DPS!
I think I am on the right way here. All hail the grind!
Unruned shock pulse allows me to get the highest proc coefficent for a lighting skill at 91%. Next is the wavy projectile long range shock pulse at 80%. Chain lighting is unusuable for the SoH proc. Since we are built for close range it WF lighting.. it makes since for me to use the unrunned shock pulse as as SoH hits like a truck.
Also since my SoH has a high dps roll, I started playing around with an unwavering build with prodigy removed and changing my skillset so I can have event horizon blackhole with clones. Suprisely its quite effective in my high torment groups as I increase my group utility without losing my stun paralysis, increase my toughnese, and makeup for my lost sparkflint damage.
I ran some more rifts and collected some more data.
in T1/2 I run with Scramble instead of Prismatic and Audacity instead of Blur.
I also rejigged some of the defensive Paragon points so my HP is just above 400k.

I haven't collected any data yet but I listened to the suggestions and this is what happened:
I finally managed to get CHD on my RoRG.
I changed Ark Lightning to Piercing Orb and went back to the Cain's.
I reshuffled my offensive Paragon points: Max ATS and the rest in CHD.
Voila. T4 is easier. Piercing Orb has such a much better synergy with the SoH.
Things die quicker. As a result I got totally rid of Blur and I am running with Audacity instead of it.
In T1-T3 I also use Storm Armor Shocking Aspect instead of Prismatic.
T4 (solo) I switch it to Prismatic. T4 (group play) it depends on the toons I am running with.
I will see if I put back in Blur and run Prismatic how T5 will be, But probably too slow.
For those in a group depending on paralysis for the added utility. I suggest pairing event horizon blackhole with clones and swapping the paralysis passive with illusionist. Been working wonders for my T5 group. So much so that the strictly dps wizards are changing their elemental boosting blackholes to event horizon
This is my current build, after many experiments and changes I can currently run T4 rifts quite easily, T5 I don't like to do because they take too much (over 20 minutes), when I farm for legendary mats I always do it on T6. I need to be more careful and not just run in head first like I do in T4, but it's all good. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Ursa-1313/hero/44735349 There's a lot of space for improvement , but I got a WoW and I'm trying to build a CDR EB + Archon hybrid so this stays as it is for now.
I started off in T2 and now I am farming T4 on the brink of T5
Hi all,
This is my first post here with the aim to get some advice on how to move my wizard further than T4.
At the moment I can farm T3 efficiently and T4 without problems (just slower).
This is my build:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UcQNSO!SVcZ!YbZaZc
which became this:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#UdQNSO!SVcZ!cYZaZc
This is my gear and stats:

Currently I am farming for a SoJ and a better helm. But maybe there is someone out there having some tips how to move her further than T4.

Haven't found a better weapon yet though.
I'll give this a go for starters
The new build feels more powerful and I can clear faster.

I'll work some more on healing and see how far i get without shields

I die now less in T4 due to the increased HP but it is still slow.
It seems T2 is the most efficient way for me to farm solo at the moment.
Any other thoughts?

But those precious items are still very elusive.
Since 2.0.5 hit I got rid of Magic Weapon and use the electric Archon. Works quite well mowing down Elites and RGs.
