I've got a bit of a Fast attack speed vairent I've been using for a while, Still do 4.5-5.5 mil per meteor with my gear, and have 1.88 APS, was excited to see this type of build is being run at higher Torment, (I run T3 fairly easier with my current set up)
Prodigy instead of Astral presence, Due to having a very high attack speed, I can fill in spots where I am out of power with missile and gain back very fast, to the point where 2-3 missles is enough to fuel another 2-4 meteors depending on crits.
Blackhole-blazer instead of Sparkflint familer, This is more of a convenience thing, But because the blazer explodes for 10mil, usually I find being able to suck mobs into the center of the swarm and hold them there very useful and provides bit of CC to an otherwise CCless build.
Last is an honorable mention variant, Using absorb shields from Dominance, Galvanizing ward and Magic weapon- Deflection, (You don't need all three just enough to keep your absorb shield up and active a majority of the time, Combined with the helm, Pride's Fall you can easily get 70% and higher cost reduction on fire skills, Basically letting you spam your heart out nearly endlessly. i find this works better in lower torment when I don't need the extra damage to 1-2 shot most things and I don't find the damage high or busty enough to make illusionist helpful.
Thanks for your video, and thanks for the reading folks!
I'm using a quite similar build ( electrocute for faster regen, and black hole instead of blink ). I switched back to force weapon, I was sure ignite wasn't on proc coeficient.
And I think I noticed a mistake in your video. At one point you prefer your mace because it got %elite dmg the reason being it's mutiplicative where +%fire dmg is additive.
Based on this video :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_PnAgXtXhI you're wrong. +%fire dmg is also multiplicative. I think you're confusing the fact that 2 items with fire dmg, let's say 15% each will indead give +30% (additive), but this 30% increase is multiplicative with the spell. I think Sun keeper is better than burning axe only if it rolls better than 20% elites dmg on it (it can).
I think you are misinterpreting the quote.
E.g. say you have: base dmg x fire dmg x elite
before you choose your SK or Burning Axe and you already have 75% fire and 25% elite (SoJ).
For argument sake, let SK and Axe give 20% elite/fire respectively.
That gives 1.75 x 1.45 = 2.5375 for SK
Or 1.95 x 1.25 = 2.4375 for Axe.
Of course SK rolls up to 30% so it's even better...
The point is because you have lots of fire already, extra fire is not pure multiplicative and less so than elite dmg.
Thanks Mikhail for the build. I find Mirrorball was nice with fast AS (Gift of Silaria). Worked nicely with Prodigy and Deflection if required. With Firebirds source, I'm a bit AP bound and run SK, Rashas and APOC.
Can run T5 fairly comfortably without resorting to Prismatic or Blur most of the time.
Just swapped my wiz from my original lightning build to a fire variant. Opting for black hole and archon over energy armor and familiar currently. Looking to get a mirror ball and cindercoat to make the build shine. Funny enough, half the gear I use is crafted (aug + captain set, devastator).
Not sure about T5/6 viability at this time, but there's something intrinsically fun about setting the entire screen on fire.
Can some explain to me something? I have read in some of the previous comments about using Hexing pants... but i dont see how those are any good... at all. They increase when moving and decrease when standing still. Arent all the Wiz skills standing still basically? We dont have a move like Strafe or something that keeps us moving and causes damage. Maybe im wrong and these pants do work? Thats why im asking this, I just have no idea.

Think you are right but haven't confirmed...
