I've been running a build pretty similar to this, and its really damn strong. the only difference that I have is running an armor (normally pinpoint barrier for the crit chance) instead of teleport. I think teleport is a great spell, I just don't like the way that it feels.
So I decided to try this build out as a change of pace after a bunch of mediocre fire stuff came my way. I was running Tal's set + Mirror Ball-Charged Blast with a Moonlight Ward before and I'm not sure if it's the ability to stack so much extra +Fire or if Mirror Ball-Conflagrate is that much better than everything else but my kill speed on T3/T4wentup significantly even with garbaggio fire items. Thanks for the build, I was honestly surprised at how much more effective I was and will be doing some Ghom tests tonight.
I used to run an arcane build (unfortunately without Moonlight Ward), archon/disintegrate, going up to T3. Kadala sold me 2 Cindercoats, one of which was pretty good (int/life%/3 sockets, still haven't decided how to reroll the life%), and I already had a Mirrorball, so I decided to give it a try and gear for fire (crafted Devastator and gambled Magefist, mostly).
My sheet dps went down from 1.3M (+33% arcane) to 950M (+92% fire), and I've been able to step up to T4. But more than that, it's made for a very nice change of pace, it's pleasant to change specs every now and then.
I've tried WoF - Heat Wave, but I definitely don't enjoy the spell, so I'm sticking with Meteor. I briefly tried Molten Impact, but I dislike not being able to spam it, seems sad not to use the 29% cost reduction from the Cindercoat
I noticed that Meteor Shower is not so much worth it, and hardly increased damage beacuse of the time lost spamming MM. IMHO its better to use Molten Impact, you only stop once, but when you cast the Impact its way overpowered compared to MM spam and does massive damage.
At my current gear level (slightly below 1M dps + 92% fire and +26% vs elites), it feels like Molten Impact doesn't pack enough ooomph for one hit every 15 secs, whereas I can spam 4 or 5 showers in a row.
Since I'm mostly using meteor on packs and MM on bosses, it fits my playstyle.
@MrWinkle, Ignite will do less damage than force weapon because only 1 of the missiles applies procs (and despite what ignite says, it adheres to proc coefficients on skills), not to mention that force weapon will add more damage to the almighty conflagrate dot. If you had something like harringtons, ignite might pull ahead whilst the buff is up, but haven't checked.
I don't even bother with Meteor because I have a pretty kickass Mad Monarch's Scepter, which you find in A1 bounty bags. For those who don't know, it procs a pretty potent poison nova cloud everytime you kill 10 enemies. I got lucky and found a 1277 dps one with 1300% weapon damage as poison nova. My poison nova crits for over 25+ million. I use Blackhole to clump together enemies.
Anyone running t5+ rifts can make any comment about viability of this build? How it works? Pros & coins on this difficulty and higher? Im running classic electrocute+AT arcane based build (1.545m 108% arc dmg, 44% elite with 10-15m tougness based on passives etc) and im wondering if its worth to go to fire, as i heard about fire outperforming any other element on high hp monsters? Im able to switch to fire without any real problems i think (need only decent magefists) and got pretty similar stats, only exception is my lack of fire SoJ.
I am able to do T5 comfortably. If I up the torment to 5+ I have been replacing Familiar with Mammoth Hydra. I use the Hydra on Elite packs and higher HP mobs and it does a lot of damage. I am trying to grab a Wand of Woh to try replacing either the Hydra or Meteor with Explosive Blast but I haven't seen the wand
Hi.. i just started this build out. but im having a hard time on surviving t5. Any tips for mitigation? And you think dropping SoJ for unity is worth it? Would devastator or burning axe of sankis a good weapon choice versus a fast weapon(no wand of woh yet).. thanks. Here is a link to my profile.
So arcane got booted out the window....got a Wand of Woh yesterday. Needless to say its back to the ole Mirrorball for mah fire spec. If you enjoy fire - you will love, love, love Wand of Woh. I love arcane, had 4 set Vyr + Shrine gloves....but so long as WoW stays at it is...zero plans of going back.
Be warned though - should be called "Wand of Carpal Tunnel".....
Currently been running around just basically teleporting at will, spamming the hell out of EB and then casting MM - Conflag. On Torment 3 - pretty much just letting EB kill trash mobs, casting Black Hole + EB on clumped elites, and filling with MM Conflag as needed. Things utterly melt, and I still need to get EB damage on the OH + Shoulders. The damn Andy's helm ate my entire stockpile of 50 shards to roll an effing socket. Was at like 5 mil per reforge when I finally got one.....(oh and 6k+ shards spent to get one w/ crit and/or socket instead to replace...no dice...f u Kadala).
Gonna run some T4+ today to test. <3 mirrorball (but really <3 WoW!!!)
I've been playing a similar build, but using explosive blast, fire blades, teleport with the rune that creates decoys, and arcane dynamo. Using Occulus for frequent teleport. I teleport in the middle of a pack, explode, spam fire blades, repeat. The decoys help stay alive and add some extra damage. I use lots of CD reduction so explosive blast and teleport are always ready. No mirrorball yet, so I haven't tried the MM build, but it looks pretty sweet. I can't even imagine how ridiculous explosive blast will be with Wand of Woh. Just using Cindercoat, Magefist, Fire Walkers, Reaper's wraps with 20% fire, and an ammy with 13% fire, I crit for up to 30m with Explosive Blast, and 50m with meteor.
Also, I've had the same experience with cold items being disappointing. Even with Azurewrath, Frost burns, etc. My damage and killing speed was terrible compared to Fire.
So Kadala finally coughed up the Mirrorball. I was a fire wiz before, so it was a simple switch to the MM/Conflag Mirrorball build.
Now I'm kinda stuck. Besides getting an RRoG (believe me, I'm trying) what should I do to push beyond T3? T3 feels comfortable and fast, but T4 is very much out of my reach.
I got sort of lucky. It was pre any buff and the mirrorball I'm using is the first legendary I got off of her
