You are in great need of higher armor and resists, so you can survive at higher MP. I'm not sure what your overall APS is but you want to aim for 2.5 APS at least, or 2.73 APS since you have a Chanto MH. I'd replace your Andy's Visage with a Storm Crow for extra LoH, plus the APoC means you can swap your OH for a Chanto OH without APoC. If you don't already, I'd drop the hellfire ring for a rare ring with 4-5% crit and 8-9% IAS, or pick up a nat's ring with all resist and int and swap your boots to nat's for the 2pc 7% crit bonus, though that might be expensive depending on your budget. Overall you'll need 66% IAS on gear to reach 2.73 with your wand, so keep that in mind when upgrading to IAS pieces. You only need 52% for 2.5 APS, which should be really easy to reach with a chanto 2 pc, if you want to aim for that first.

For MP5 I recommend something like 550 resists and 3500 armor while using Storm Armor - Shocking Aspect. You're welcome to try with lower armor. Since they changed RD it's not as much an issue for CMWW so those requirements are likely a little on the high side, though Electric mobs still hurt, and most of the other affixes out there can still kill if you're not careful.

OK I upgraded what I could with the gold I had. Could you take a look and see how I did?

Your armor and resists look a little better but you really should replace that 22 CD ring with something that has crit and IAS. You're pretty low on APS so I still recommend aiming for at least 2.5 APS, which requires IAS on 6 pieces. Right now you only have IAS on 3, so the ring plus other ring plus amulet with max IAS rolls should put you to 2.5. The downside is you might lose some dps from the transition since you'll probably have to sacrifice your CD on those pieces. Try to look for average damage on those pieces though since you can make up some some dps with that, and a lot of times average damage is underpriced. Resists, str, and/or armor on those pieces is a big plus but usually will drive up the price. Also, if you have the gold, a nat's ring with int and all resist (no need for crit since you'd want to get boots too) is pretty great for your gear level. Just combine it with a pair of nat's boots with int (and str or vit if you can find some and afford it, but don't spend more than a couple mil on it) and you'll get more armor plus the 7% crit for the set bonus.

Also, your crit% is very low. If you can, try to switch your Storm Crow to one with crit, even if it's only 3-4%. The 4.5% ones are around 10 mil or so, in case that's in your budget range. More than 4.5% crit isn't really worth it at your gear level (or mine, imo, heh). I recommend trying to get the crit up to about 45-50% buffed if possible, though your use of Lacuni's makes that difficult. I greatly prefer using rare bracers and getting IAS from belt and chest (WH and Tal's chest respectively). However those cost a lot of gold, especially once you try to add EHP stats to them. I'd say those are more long term goals if your budget is small.

If you get your crit up to around 45%+ with follower you should be able to solo farm MP5 reasonably well, but if you have survival issues then keep upping that armor and resists. You can even afford to drop some life if needed. 30-35k should be sufficient for farming at those MP values. You only really need higher life if your mitigation is low or you are trying to run Ubers. Mag's swarm really hurts at high MP.

Probably not. If I ever update the guide I'll post an edit log on the first page though, so it's not too big of a deal.

    Great guide!

At an unbuffed 2.73 APS, 56.50% CC & 287% CHD (without emerald); totaling 263k DPS (with emerald), I got a sheet DPS increase by switching from emerald to ruby. It was a small increase though. It only took it to 266k DPS.

I'm currently running a black 1.66 APS dagger + socket / APoC Triumvirate / Tal Rasha neck / Storm Crow gear set-up. I used to do 3.01 APS with a 1.65 socket Chantodo and old school Zunimassa boots, but was eventually convinced 3.0 was overkill and decided to jump from 200k DPS with it to 300k DPS @ 2.73. Didn't quite make it (yet), but I'm happy with the results so far.
  • #109
^I've considered that but its difficult reaching that breakpoint with a 1.66 dagger and trim since you get no IAS from the off hand and helm slots (stormcrow req). Which means inna's pants are necesarily and it would be a huge ehp drop for me.
  • #110
True - this set-up does require you to get Inna's pants. I use 190 vit / 9% ones for extra EHP. I even still use an old school 6% / 6% Zuni boots with ~70 int and ~60 resists. It was a bit of a challenge to reach the breakpoint but the end result was good, especially considering the massive amount of elemental damage bonuses from this set-up (Triumvirate, Storm Crow, Zunis, Tal Rasha neck).

To be honest the whole idea kinda came to me after stumbling over a quite exceptional Tal Rasha's Allegiance. The thing had 5% Cold dmg, 213 int, 131 vit, 726 LoH, 62% CHD and 10% CC.

I'm doing the black dagger+triumvirate+zuni pieces and I love it. I am not even bothering with reaching 2.73. I'd lose way too much EHP in the process since I have resist+armor BT pants and high resist, high int, max crit bracers. I would love to use a Tal's amulet, but I would need one with IAS and if I lose that much crit it will probably hurt the build too much. That means I can't really use one without a trifecta, which is way over any budget I've had so far. It's just too much hassle to reach 2.73 when all my simulations indicate I lose dps at 2.73 over 2.5, and 2.5 works just fine.

First of all i would like to thank you for this guide, awesome work!

and now i need your help :-)

i am curious about how to upgrade further.

    my stats:

    3600 Armor
    46,5 CC
    247% CD
    640 Allres
    2,79 APS
    1062 LOH
    47k HP

    profile: www.diabloprogress.com/hero/devlin-2443/Dilven/8325171

did MP9 ubers yesterday easily with these stats (while using prismatic Armor and time stretch), but i think i lack some dps

seems like changing items will always result in loosing either Armor,Allres,LOH or IAS

    maybe a good advice?

Just a quick question; but does Storm Armor bolts benefit from IAS?

No, they strike at a rate of once per second on average, regardless of APS.

Is this your calc simulator Loroese?

    http://d3cmww.com/cmww

Pretty useful. Let me figure out my freeze up time and equivalent total life gained per second from Loh and Blood Magic's LS.

The true average dps also matches my results from timing MP10 ghom kills.

One concern though, it says that I gain 96-97 arcane/sec on avg but spend 100 arcane/sec on average at 18 APOC. Would this mean I would eventually run out? I don't seem to be. At 19 APOC, the calc shows I would pass the break even point and gain more than I spend.
  • #117
No, that's not mine, but it's similar. Mine is written in MATLAB so not many people can use it. I also haven't added any correction factors for CM or APoC procs.

As for the Arcane/sec, I'm not sure if that includes your base arcane regen or not. Also, I'm not sure what APoC modifier you use for that but the WW APoC returns are approximately 2x what you might expect based on Loh mechanics. I think the default is 1.2 for the sim though.

I'm curious, is there a breakpoint above 3.01? Or is 3.01 the last frontier?

    http://us.battle.net...94871641?page=1

3.3453 for 45 ticks (up from 40) is the next one.

Based on the calculations (which seem to be accurate) the other ones are: 5.0001 (72), 4.2858 (60), 3.7501 (52). Afaik no one has tested them so far ;-)
  • #120
Okay, because I'm currently at 3.33 APS if I use my trifecta BT Cross and Inna's Temp. So if I get a 9 IAS BT, I'll hit the next breakpoint... interesting.
