Hey guys, I've recently return after a long hiatus from d3 and found this build and thought i might try it with my limited resources, seems battle.net havn't updated my character profile since may 22, 2012 so i can't link you the items i've got but i've managed to scrape togheter around 130k DMG, 35K HP, 500 AR, 38.5 CC/386% Crit.dmg, and i've got 900ish LoH on my Skorn, but i'm not able to tank anything, any elite pack hits me i'm most certainly dead if i let them hit me again, what might i be doing wrong?

Well it's been 2 days now since I've started playing around 1.0.8 and it's fun fun fun!!!
Here's the farming route I use. I can speedfarm it with a blizzard/stark winter + teleport/wormhole and astral projection+power hungry and I only use RoF if stuff gets close and to kill elites. I run at mp2 so it's super quick and the xp/hour is crazy!
Of course you can play it on high MP as well. I can run MP7 quite comfortably but it takes a lot more time.

    Here's the route:
Festering woods for fast NV, then off to fields of misery. go up and start spiraling downwards as there are TONS of mobs. the caves there are awesome as well. lots of RP chests don't miss them.
Then I reach Cemetery of the forsaken and I clear it quick and the tombs. Jar of souls quest is a nice XP bonus if you come across it and there are lots of goblins there.
Then I walk down to the weeping hollow and spiral my way downwards. and for dessert I go and do the warden quest.

I am so disappointed by the AH being down. I have 66 million, more than I have ever had at once (pathetic amount I know). I can play on MP9 and 10. I was hoping to buy a Stormcrow with decent AP on crit. I need more AP on the higher MPs because the elites take longer to kill. I feel trapped by the Tal set. I think I need to break it to progress. Anyone willing to lend me one to see if it is will wotk. Husband, Dad and adult I wont keep your helm. A video of someone using with simialr gear to mine would work in MP9-10 on a boss or elite with extra health or something simialr...long fight. A miracle and a gift of one would be phenominal but I just want to try it beofre I break my set and who know when the AH will be back and my 66 million could be worthless now anyways. I will post videos of how it works and it may benefit the community somewhat. I can't even get a crummy one to drop, its making me nuts. :( Magusrex#1997

Yes MP8. That was a first take on a lunch break. I actually play for high tension moments....I like it. It keeps the adenaline pumping. Unstable Anomaly allows me to play more aggressively. I do not think it ever kicked in on the video. I will have to rewatch to be sure. As long as do not have more than one insanity moment every 60 secs I'm cool to go buck wild.

    and thanks

I do not like having not experimented with anything but teleport. With the servers down I have been trying to think about what I could put in that spot. What do you think about Archon there? I think it could work if used it as it was originally intended. Get into a wo shit moment and pop it and not worry about it going down.

I think when the server pops back up I will try it with arcane destruction. 1600% weapon damage in a 15 radius should be kind of ridiculous with my gear. If I can use it to speed up elite kills, it might be worth it. I am willing to try so I have other choices to comment about there. I am curious to see how much 1600% weapon damage on a crit is. Improved archon may be the better choice, I will try both. I am skeptical because I use teleport a lot.

Anyone else have ideas to try instead of teleport?

I've seem a video with Archon + Arcane Destruction killing Ghom (I don't remember the MP) only with the boom-transformation.

It's a hell of an explosion.

I think Archon would help you a lot with this build, it busts your EHP high and your DPS also. And Archon is fun, with LASERS, LASERS EVERYWHERE (tm). :P

    OK, FOUND THE VIDEO:

(sorry for shouting, but it's fun)

But my 2 cents: I like slow time and meteor. I think a build focused on "Death Raining From The Sky" suits our Wizardry power. Although not very effective for the game, I think its fun to see a huge meteor blasting on the heads of the demons while they're being frozen... :P

    Hey!

With 20 APoC i (10 from Stormcrow and 10 from Triumvirate) i run this build with 1h + source with success on mp4-5 (my gear doesn't allow higher). I have tailored the build more to my needs anyway:
    - The crit proc on the main attack is a bit low, so I always run out of AP eventually when I attack single targets (last one of an extra health elite pack...). So for this I use Power of the Storm for Storm Armor to counter this.
    - I use Teleport with Calamity. Great offensive usage and I can still get away.
    - I never take Black Ice for party play, because in order to get an Black Ice patch, you have to get the killing blow. Rarely happens when 4 ppl are attacking something. I hope Blizzard will change the mechanic, so Black Ice applies a debuff and the patch is created when a monster dies while having the debuff, no matter who killed it.

I am also very happy with this build because it is the first one that forced me to use the terrain to my advantage. I've been running Weeping Hollow/Fields of Misery with this a lot and I always pull too many monsters and I have to retreat behind a bottle-neck so I can kill all those instantly.
    Pietrak#2537 - changed my battle.tag just for you ;P

I did not like archon with the build. Not needed. I liked time warp +20% damage but the escapability of Teleport is still king for me. I intend to experiment with diamond skin next.

Grouping and black ice is tricky. if I outgear my mates it is awesome, if they outgear me not so much. I often switch for groups. I will experiment with calamity. I like wormhole too.

    Fun looking build.

OP could you post a video of MP10 solo?

I will. It is slower, have to play more carefully which is not my style. Grouping in MP10 is better than solo. 3-4 Blizzards everywhere is a lot of DPS, really nice with a good group. THe other builds that can play MP10 well have nice synergy with this build. Problem is the people who play MP10 that cannot survive. I prefer MP9 for that reason.

Yeah I suspected it would be slower but it is viable since I've had a go at it myself recently. I play in group on MP10 with my friends so I know they can hold their own. I've been using a CMWW build which was working really well for them, but it gets boring repeating the button mashing process over and over again. I find that this build also works well as you said and I'm having more fun with it. Even on MP10 as soon as you take that first monster down and it triggers black ice, the rest of the pack just melt in it lol.

I do find that I have to kite the tank EP's though when playing solo (that's with 253k buffed dps). I guess the only way around that is get lucky to find better items that increase dps without sacrificing ehp.

My DPS is less...I am kind of in a gear quagmire as upgrades now cost a fortune for me and I only get to play 5-10 hours a week. Here is the video, the elites I have are particularly tough so I have to kite even more than normal but it is what it is. 229k DPS
buffed. 1st take as always for my videos, don't think its fair to find the perfect elites I can kill easily. I think I can kite well :)
