ok so you have seen plenty tank ghom? i dont think thats possible with a sword or wand the only one it is possible with is chantodo's will im not saying im the first to come out with this TYPE of build im just saying im the first to perfect it. as i was not the first to come out with the meteor build just perfected it and everyone else starting releasing there info AFTER me.
I've seen plenty of people tank Ghom, and the weapon hardly matters. It just takes a little LoH, a little resist, and he's super easy. And why would we only be able to do it with a set wand? Why not a regular wand, or sword, or dagger? I think you clearly overestimate your accomplishments as I've seen similar vids that were out months ago.
I tanked him months ago with a regular wand with just LoH, maybe APoC.
I've tank Ghom with a normal wand earlier on in 1.04. I had a storm crow and Ouroboros back then though. Both of them have LoH on them, which I don't use anymore.
with a lot of loh you might be able to do it with a sword/dagger/wand but it does not have enough attack speed to be totally efficient as the set want chantodo's will
well good to know since you say you can do all this why dont you add me and show me how you stop diablo from spawning shadows then ill believe every word your saying masterpoo#1227 o and tank ghom for me without energy armor

I think your over value-ing attack speed in todays game. It'll be more important in MP Levels in 1.05. But its definitely not necessary for survival in the current content difficulty. From my old LoH gear, i've given it up, but i've increased my intelligence by 1k since and also geared for higher armor. With 0 LoH, I can still sit in molten, arcane, desecrator, etc. I don't think I will have a problem face tanking content I manage to do a month ago with double the dps and much higher defense. I'm still using the same 1.4speed wand.
Tanking without energy armor is just a matter of how much EHP you have. At reasonably high EHP, people switched from energy armor months ago for more dps since they already had more than sufficient survivability. I never got quite that high so I was only around 400-500k EHP when I decided to tank Ghom to see how it was, and it was rediculously easy with only 10-20k dps compared to trying to kill him with a 60k dps kiting build. I also had a wand with no IAS on it and I don't think I had any IAS on gear either, just crit, so I only had like 1.4 attacks per second. I think I even used WW instead of SC, after the 1.0.4 nerf.
Like Kintonik, I don't mean to offend you. But when you say your the first to perfect a build, that is a bold statement. For that matter, a large number of CM/SC (WW) wizards before you are using chantodo's set. Its a known good weapon to compliment the build. Browse around the forums and you'll realize that its general knowledge.
I just did a few tests, not going to upload a video as I am not setup to make videos. And that would be just way too much effort than I'm willing to put in.
With no prismatic armor (using shocking aspect), 1.4attack speed normal wand, I needed 344 LoH to face tank Ghom.
I'm at ~500-600all resist, 4.5k armor, 95k dps, 30k hp. My health only dipped to about 50% twice before immediately refilling. I did die without the LoH at about 10% health on Ghom, I don't have life leech either. But 344 is not exactly hard to get, I had it on one item.
ok its good to know you can do it with an axe i just figured out how to do it with a sword and its all basically about the apoc when using a wand/dagger/sword i havent tested an axe yet but i will do that when im done writing this. but yes i was finally successful at beating ghom with a sword with only adding a little loh and 2 pieces with APOC helm and source and turning on magic weapon conduit and astral presence as kind of a cost reducer. the astral presence is probably totally not needed but the magic weapon conduit may be totally needed.
yes its all dependent on the apoc no matter the speed (only tested 1.68 as lowest speed) you will need at the minimum 2 pieces with apoc those 2 either being helm and source or wand and source/helm but when facing ghom there is a second factor which is you will either have to have very high resist or loh. i believe magic weapon conduit may be necessary. also a regen suit would be good also
i also beat ghom with an axe now
i also perma freezed diablo with a sword could prob do it with an axe too. using the 2 apoc piece rule and magic weapon conduit.
update: i can almost do it with a 2h but i am only using 1 apoc item helm and magic weapon conduit and astral presence. i need atleast 1 more apoc item but i dont know any other besides helm with a 2h
I agree that Conduit isnt worth it.
Concerning attack speed: Keep in mind that it not only affects how fast you can cast winds, but on top of that it also determines how many times a wind ticks and therefore how many procs you get from them ((http)://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6794871641). So based on your critchance and arcane on crit there is a minimal attack speed you have to have in order for a wind to "pay for itself" or give you a surplus of arcane power.

i was talking to someone else he said he could do it with a sword/wand/dagger not chantodos set

And the kill took me under 30 secs.
