I recently started playing a wizard. It feels like I hit a major wall when i got level 54. I read strats and other stuff. What is the best way to level the rest of the way to 60, which acts mainly.
If you get desperate or bored just look for a level 62-63 weapon with reduced level requirements, a 700 dps 1h or a 850 dps 2h will make a huge difference.
I normally get to lvl 59 by only completing the game with a mixture of co-op and solo and by putting a ruby in my helm for about half the time.
And you can do this very easily by investing about 100k gold for the whole leveling process (1-60 that is) in the AH.
I've never had to farm xp (except for half a level) so I wonder why there's always guide or questions about how to level to 60?
I'm actually leveling a Monk and trying to speedrunning his level to 60, and by the rate I'm going (now at 1/2 act1 hell) it'll have took about 20 hours leveling him to 60 and clearing hell.
And by speedrunning I only mean getting from point A to point B without checking everything but killing everything in my way to point B. It's as simple as that. And always remember to buy some upgrades maybe every 10 lvls in the AH to make sure you can maintain your speed.
I have no idea why people ask these questions, you go to AH, buy +exp gear for every slot, forget all other stats, may be a little bit of your primary stat, forget tanking stats. Find a helm with +exp and a socket, throw a ruby in, get a reduced level requirement weapon with about 700-800 DPS, unless the person knows what he has he'll be selling it for 100k or so. That would put you in high DPS, with about 200+ exp per kill and may be a low grade 21% extra exp from ruby in the helm. From level 54 onwards a single clear of act III from siegebreaker up to & inclusive of Azmodan kill = 1 level guaranteed. All you have to do is repeat that 6 times and you're level 60... nothing hard about it at all.

I had trouble too. It was mainly my build's fault. I switched to a kiting/defensive build and it got much easier. Also, if you already have a lvl 60, you can farm Inferno Act 1 or late Hell for some decent items for your wizard. I wouldn't invest on +exp gear, or anything really. It's not necessary nor fun.

I don't recall the experience being difficult on my Wiz (who was my first character with no OP gear), but now... yeah, just buy a cheap red. lvl. req. weapon and smash faces.

I kept a Teleport/Mirror Image rotation. Whenever fighting mobs, I either had Diamond Skin active, or the decoys from teleport distracting them.
