4K Life gain per hit - Battlemage [Item Spoiler]

    Thanks for the great articales, Item Affixes and Lengendary items from Molster, to make the idea possible.

    Life steal, Battlemage

    Combat style: Stutter step: cast and move and rotate between cooldowns. With great gear, a more relaxing play style will be "tank & annihilate" lol.

    Items:

    Ouroboros lv 60 or Blackthorne's Medal Lv 60, Life On Hit 304 - 448, + "of Mangling" Tier 14, 658-959. assuming the Affixes stack the same way as Diablo 2, Total 962 - 1407 Life on Hit

    Legendary Chest Heart of Iron Level 27 Life On Hit 9 - 13 (Filler)

    Any Weapon of Mangling + Tier 14 Gives 658-959 Life On Hit (Basic rare Weapon) or Legendary Weapon with "of Mangling" Affix + 2 sockets of Radiant Star Amethyst, each offers Life on Hit of 600. Total, 1858 - 2159

    2 x Band of Hollow Whispers, Life on Hit, 152-224 + Tier 14 "of Mangling" 239-479 Life on Hit, Total 782 - 1406 Life on Hit


    Life on Hit Total 3611 - 4985, 4298 Average life gain per hit

    Skll Focus:

    AOE - Getting more hits over more mobs
    Single - Getting faster cast speed to hit more frequently

    Skills picked (Mouse hover works)

    Don't know why you're skipping magic weapon with Blood magic which givers a static 10% weapon dps increase and a static 1.5% total damage to life on all your spells.

    Hmm, I don't know if it matters enough though, lets say the weapon base damage is 600. With Magic Weapon, the damage is 660.

    Lets cast Arcane Torrent for example which deals 175% weapon damage, and that's 660x1.75 = 1155 damage.

    The Blood Magic rune gives us 1.5% of this which is 1155 x 0.015 = 17.325 HP

    Also if you read the description of the Blood Magic rune, it says "damage casued" the 1155 damage was not the end damage, so after the reduction from resistance, it would be even less.

    I just don't think it matters too much, this is why the build is focused on the aoe / attack speed. I could be wrong, we'll figure it out when the game is out.

    Looks like a lot of fun.

    Like any Wizard though, you'd have to make sure you don't get bursted down by multiple enemies at once. No amount of HP gain per hit will let you survive a nasty damage spike.

    You do realize that that stacks with other forms of life drain correct?

    I understand what you saying, we'll see how life drain based on % work out. It just seems to me that the % life drain may not be siginficant enough compared to the Life on Hit for a Wizard. The Life on hit with all the items available, 3611 - 4985, 4298 Average, life drain % still look pale compared to this number.

    The whole point of LoH is outhealing the damage, Which means not dying after 1 hit. I think your wizard would be one shot by pretty much anything in Inferno

    Also, to the OP..you mentioned 2 sockets on the weapon. These don't exist.
