Hey all was wondering where I should improve my gear in order to farm act 3 efficiently? I have trouble with act 3 so it's not an efficient farm. Also not 100% sure which build is best suited for my gear level as well.
I've got 13 mil to spend so I'm looking to upgrade in order to be able to farm act3 efficiently.
Feedback appreciated, thanks all.
Here's my gear / stats ( stats are with glass cannon )
you have enough resists and armor to lower your hp to at least 25K(maybe even less) and still make force armor effective(is the armor in screenshot number with energy armor on?), so try to lower ur hp and get more life regeneration, reason for that is so you can recover quickly from the hits you take, with 1k+ life regeneration ull see everything will be easier specially if u get lower hp.
Stats in the SS are without force armor and with glass cannon. I'm also hearing that I should get more crit dmg without sacrificing my crit chance in exchange for some of my defensive stats too. So I should mostly work on my sustain / offense?
Yeah I'm not really into the whole melee wizard thing. I'd only gear for it if I was convinced that it was undoubtedly the most efficient method to building a wizard.

What sort of troubles are you having with Act 3? Boss enrages? Mobs killing you? Problem with Elites?
Short version of my thoughts:
build: Arcane Orb+Arcane Hydra+options
DPS: OH and MH will likely give you the best dps gains to start with, or use a spreadsheet and just compare stuff on the AH
Survival: can try getting more life regen while dropping HP but keep EHP above 118k or so
Detailed version:
In terms of builds, I would recommend something with Arcane Orb and Arcane Hydra. I don't like blizzard with 1h because it doesn't scale with your weapon attack speed so it tends to hit very weakly. With decent crit and damage you can blow up stuff really effectively with AO+hydra and can use a passive for slows. The only downside is you don't have any +arcane on crit, so you might also want to use a signature spell like piercing orb or Lightning Blast so you have something you can cast when you run out of AP. Fill the build out with Force Armor and your choice of defensive spells/offensive buffs (I prefer to use DS and teleport, but others like Magic Weapon instead of DS). If you can get AP on crit you could likely drop the signature spell and use Tap the Source with AO to be able to use AO as your "signature spell". I use a 2h and have no AP on crit so I use Celestial Orb, plus I like that it goes through mobs to kill those darn spearmen and makes it easier to hit the Molaks or whatever those fireball spitting drakes are. I also like it for shielding and invulnerable mobs, though I tend to skip the later because it's not really worth the effort if I die once.
In terms of increasing your dps I'd start with the OH. Try to find something with over 300 top end damage (higher the better, and you shouldn't settle for anything under 350), no vit (since your resists and Energy Armor should put you at a high enough EHP to fully use Force Armor, might be worth checking though), +ap on crit (could be optional, if you don't mind keeping a signature spell), and of course crit%. Int or a socket for more Int is good too, as is higher low end damage, but you might not have a lot of OHs to choose from once you start narrowing your options. You could also try to find a double crit weapon (crit damage static plus a socket) around the same dps value as the one you have, but finding good weapons tends to be very pricey and I haven't looked at a lot of 1h prices lately. You could probably drop down to a 750-800 dps 1h and still gain DPS if it has a lot of crit and you put a 70 crit gem in the socket but I would recommend using a spreadsheet to check first.
If you feel up to changing around a few pieces of gear to make it a little easier to get through the act, you can take Madwizz's advice and get a couple more pieces of gear with life regen and even try to fit in Galvanic Winds passive into your build. With 1-3 more pieces each with 100+ regen you can hit 1k with the passive. If you can drop a little health while retaining your resists/armor (or improving them) you should improve your survivability as long as you maintain the recommended EHP of around 118k. This is something I have just started trying to do and so far I like the results. The basic idea is if you can keep a high EHP but low actual HP, it makes life regen much more valuable and highly useful. It also makes Diamond Skin better too.
