I play a Wizard, and I love Force Armor - it prevents me from getting oneshotted as I progress through act 2 on Inferno mode. However, a lot of players I've been playing with have been saying that it's going to get nerfed. After having a look around I haven't found any official statement that support it, but I thought I'd ask you guys just to be sure. It'd stink having to regear my character because it gets reworked or removed. ^^
Based on Blizzards statements of:
"There will be some funky over powered builds out there, thats part of the fun, to find crazy overpowered builds"
Or somthing close to that on multiple occasions.
I don't think it will get nerfed - could be wrong, but its an overpowered deffensive ability - it doesn't garuntee your survival, it just lets you play as a Glass Cannon in Inferno.
Monks can Face Tank with Max Dodge builds, so I would say this is ok too!
I think it's fairly balanced, it's not totally overpowered but has its strengths and weaknesses. Its strengths are obvious (no one-shotting), but it's extremely weak to damage over time effects or quick attackers which start showing up more in act 3. Also, Azmodan's hell rifts and almost every single one of Diablo's attacks will instantly kill you.
I doubt it, they've internally tested for like 1.5 years, they know about these builds. Force armor wizards / pure dodge monks / smoke screen with preparation DH, yea those skills kick ass but I doubt they would nerf them. If anything if they find everyone's using them, they might buff some other skills.
I'm going to say no, because while the build is fairly strong, it's only strong in certain situations.
DoTs gib you like it was nothing, and champion packs stil destroy you if you're not careful. I'm aso certain only a handful of bosses can actually be "tanked", the rest you need to be super careful with, and chances are you'll end up using VHydra + blizzard and constantly kiting, even with force armor. At that point it's really just there to make sure you're not one shot.
It will get fixed. It's a literal perfect example of a certain class/skill/rune/build that trivializes the game- something blizzard said they would be on the look out for and would fix promptly.
So the only question isn't will it get fixed, but rather when it will be fixed.
Personally I'm hoping by the end of the week, or the damage will already be done. The build is already quickly becoming common knowledge, and in a weeks time the gear economy will be feeling the affects of it.
A wizard solo'd Diablo Inferno a week into the game with the (ab)use of this rune.
Any wizard can just run without any vitality and high regen and basically be immortal, which is exactly what the guy did.
Los retardos.
I'm getting really pissed off about this.
Everyone has seen one Wizard use a VERY specific build to kill Diablo, without even understanding how the build works. People are just taking the 'low health + high regen + force armor' build at face value, and it's creating a huge misconception.
So that it's clear. THIS BUILD IS WORTHLESS FOR ANY FORM OF FARMING, OR CHAMPION PACKS. YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY.

because surely no-one could think of that build before the launch of the game, heck I knew when I knew force armor existed the potential it could have, don't you think they knew it too when they tested it? it won't be nerfed, nor is it the perfect way to play, like those bugs in act 2 that shoots 4-5 projectiles that quickly kills you, one dosen't take more than 35% of your life, but take all four of them and your damn low on HP if not dead, then take the projectiles of two of them..., plus dot's will still destroy you, and 35% is getting 3 shotted, it's not OP, barbarians can take many more than 3 shot before dying, monks too, are they OP? no..
[...] THIS BUILD IS WORTHLESS FOR ANY FORM OF FARMING, OR CHAMPION PACKS. YOU WILL DIE INSTANTLY.
While I agree that this build is clearly good while not being as overpowered as it is stated, and even hard to play against packs with fire chains or other annoying affixes, what you say, "this build is worthless" is not true.
You will die instantly if you play poorly. But with proper kiting, a good skill selection, and good reflex, you will die much less than with any other wizard build.
Ok, I agree that I am probably overreacting. I guess the point that I'm trying to make is not the super IWIN build that everyone who has no experience in inferno is making it out to be (due to a couple of high exposure kills)
It is situational at best, and I don't think that up coming wizards should be counting on it to carry them through inferno.
I feel inferno is just a bit ridiculous after A1. A1 is okay but then you step into A2 with your 45K hp wizard and get 2 shoted -.- Then you start to give up with frustration and go with no vita + force armor + diamond skin.
I just feel the difference between A1 and A2 is too big. I really wanted a hard game but right now for me and my friends trying to get through it we feel it is quickly starting to just find abusing mechanics and then it quickly limit the options for skills... While I had a lot of fun in hell, dying quite often, trying new builds, inferno so far is just finding abuses instead of really playing the game.
Personally I'm running with 18k HP (would have been 11k if not for my weapon), 500 life/sec and 32.5k damage. Going up against Belial very soon, which I think will be quite easy in fact. My survivability is crap because of my high health, but my damage is very good so that should make up for it... hopefully.
I'd rather not it got changed, I can't imagine having to build my Wizard into a tanky tank to be able to survive as much as 2 hits from any threatening mob. <.<"

Ohh the irony, the clueless makes ridiculous claims about something he clearly doesn't understand. The build is totally OP as hell, and offers more survivability in practically any situation you are in.
In inferno, even with decent HP almost anything will take half your health in one hit..... Force Armor + health regen sources = stupidly OP.

Do you want to get scammed? Perhaps a nice keylogger?
"Just google "diablo 3 gold guide" and magical rainbow covered demons will assault your eyes."
I pretty much doubt it.
While it makes bosses easy, it definitely has its weaknesses and challenges fightning rares.
It's very fun to play and hope it stays this way.
It can and it has. Blizzard decided it was overpowered and now any hit that is more than your max life completely passes through Force Armor and kills you.

I was playing just a few minutes ago and it works the same as it always has.

This is not true, please don't quote a random blizzard forum troll thread.
I just finished running through act 2 inferno without any new issues.

only thing now is to wait for an infinite smoke screen nerf
