Its very simple: what's your favorite signature¹ skill ? If possible, post why and what would you change in any other signature skill.
I'm really in love for Shock Pulse. It has good damage and easilly hit multiple targets. It has only medium range, but many wiz skills requires some aproximation (wave of force, tornado, frost nova).
Imo arcane missile is a terribly boring skill. It represents a wand attack with 10% extra damage. It might be good to pin point damage at range using melee weapons, but I think noone want a signature skill to be its source of pin point damage. I think Arcane Missile should be a ice bolt and slowdown enemies too. It would make a interesting spammable.
¹ Signature skills are wizard's spell that cost no Arcane Energy and have no cooldown. They can be constantly spammad no stop, but they are usually weaker then his other spells. There are passive skills that boosts signatures: one regenerates your arcane energy when a signature hits and other increase the damage of your next non-signature spell.
From what I could tell from the vids and streams, I looked forward the probable usage of spectral blade-crit usage, but afaik, it now only hits once, so now Electrocute and Shock Pulse are around equals to me. Once I get into the beta or get the game eventually, I will chose one or another based on my experience.

Right now electrocute is the most efficient and graphically satisfying. You can seriously just use that and melt everything in sight, plus the ragdoll takes over pretty often and sends glowing body parts arcing across the screen.
The swords are fun, but it's hard to tell if a melee-build would be viable without key support powers like slow time and teleport.

In a previous Beta build I had a pretty awesome melee wizard. She used the 1h axe and an awesome shield. With magic weapon active she got up to about 180 dps(according to the char sheet) and with the frenzy shrine buff she was at about 263 dps.
Its harder to test stuff with the "RMAH" testing going as you can't exactly "get" more Beta Bucks unless you sell stuff
In the Beta though and in normal a Melee wiz seems very viable. Have to wait for release to see if end game viable though, but should be from what I can tell. Just my opinion though.
