I've been playing a delrashes build using mammoth hydra (SS and T&T cubed), and starpact meteor. As you might notice this means the build has 4 major damage sources: TR meteors, Starpact, Slow Time and the hydra's.
How exactly are those teleport running meteor swarm builds able to dash out enough damage to clear high-lvl GR's? I've tried playing it a few times and kept failing miserably, struggling to even clear T10.
I was clearning lvl 50 grifts with http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Cataclysim-1722/hero/67128366 and I'm was missing Nilfors and the Tal neck. I just go them last night. I've also dropped simplicity for the poison gem and the zei for a gizzard. Meteors are hitting for 1.7b. Just have to throw slow time down, group them up with black hole or a twister, teleport in for arcane meteor, teleport out and spam mm until you can throw down more slow times. Slow time hits for .5 bil per tick. It hits pretty hard, just have to keep everything together and use duplicates to keep your mana up and slow time off cd. This is my first alt of the season and I need to tinker with the new gear. Didnt get the greatest of rolls on the neck and boots, but it should boost my dmg up a bit. I have an alternative AW i cubed and have a sword (dmg enemies become lightning rods and pulse lightning dmg) with 3k dmg on it. I might switch my furnace to AW then use a higher dmg weapon (i have a great AW but accidentally rerolled a secondary stat when i tried to reroll the socket). If i do this i'll probably drop black hole and use Twister - Storm chaser with Renslor's Folly. I have a lot of tweeking to do, my tal neck had cold dmg on it, so my slow time will switch from fire to ice and I need to find a primary that uses fire and is easily spamable.
I love this build due to the mobility. You can teleport in and out, spam MM and keep laying down Slow Time. When Black hole is up, group everything together, and meteor the shit out of them. When you need mana pop duplicates.
I would think Hydra's slow you down too much. You can't move around a lot and try to group up more mobs.
But how on earth do you deal enough damage to kill things without a proper spender? Trying to kill things with just your TR meteors and slowtime takes forever.
I dont kill things with just meteors, although they are icing on the cake. I try to teleport around and get them in a general lump, throw slow time on them (500mil tick), ice strike then black hole to proc F&R then teleport in. You should have three meteors hitting for about 1bil each and then the slow time ticking away, spam ice strike and slow time to cc mobs and keep them around until black hole is up. AW is goddly!
I haven't really tried to push grifts, because I moved to a xp/heal munk for group play. I have a tal rasha set that would probably get me to 55+ but I haven't put the time into working it. I still need a wand for a vrys build, but not too crazy about that either. I love the del rasha build, it's fun.
Ok, having more success now that I found out I have to teleport around like a madman rather than try to kill things one by one. Looking for a way to implement hydra into this build, it seems a nice addition given how much it moves.
Ps: Vyr's build looks like waaay too much effort for not that much extra.
