here's a video i have put together with my first attempt at a build and gear setup for the new delsere's magnum opus gear set coming for wizards in 2.2.0
it is a build i pondered over a little bit, as it is very different to some of the more popular streamers/higher ranked wizards who rely entirely on magic missile for their damage output while inside the slow time bubble, mine differs in that it uses 2 AP spenders as well as having magic missile as a third major damage source that is also free to cast.
any questions about the build/gear please ask and i'll do my best to answer, hope you enjoy the video, i'll be making more with my thoughts on the gear set after i have done more testing with it, and give my opinions on it as a viable gear set for the wizard class.
I didn't even see you use Twister. Just forgot about it maybe? As for the damage it seems alright, but MM was much more effective than orb in your video. Good job though.
i used it quite regularly, unfortunately, wicked wind graphically isn't very noticeable, especially when inside a slow time bubble where the colours get a bit blended together, but i can assure you i did use it frequently.
Nice video; however, I don't really see the point in using arcane orb, since MM + Mirrorball are way more effective, while at the same time reducing the cd on Slow Time. You could pick Magic Weapon - Force weapon instead for the overall dps increase, as well as replace the weapon for a devastator to get the extra fire dmg. I'm also not sure if the Energy Twister bracers are better than the usual Black Hole + Strongarms combo...
i decided to use arcane orb - scorch, because it deals a nice amount of damage up front, plus at the correct range, the explosion damage is pretty powerful, and the dot effect is nice inside the slow time bubble where it is amplified, as for the weapon choice, you would be insane not to run gesture of orpheus, 50-70% base reduction on slow time cooldown, for free, not including any further CDR you already have, myh cooldown on slow time is ~4 seconds with this wand and gear setup, so 2 casts and i can replace it again, using a devastator for some small amount of elemental damage isn't worth the loss of this huge utility.
