SO, have been playing the Pet Build for a while now and as I had the Jade Set in storage waiting for a rainy day, a friend of mine suggested I try the following build as it is apparently very OP
My question, without sounding completely ridiculous is, how does it work I have looked all over for an explanation but cannot seem to find one. What is the synergy between my passives and the build and what sort of format is followed when attacking. I am almost mashing random buttons now hoping for the best but I cannot seem to make the build "gel", for lack of a better word. Please help?
-Piranhado for damage boost
-Locust Swarm
-Haunt to your hearts content
-Spirit walk in and use Soul Harvest
-Walk back out, locust swarm and haunt to your hearts content untill soul harvest is back up
-Rinse and repeat
Creeping death is obviously so that the damage from your 6set is more impressive, same with Pierce the Veil.
Grave Injustice and Gruesome feast are your every day defensive and offensive boosts that are just kind of there.
Other than that, zombie dogs just kind of exist to tank things.
Thanks so much for this information. I found myself almost trying to tank to get the Soul Harvest in the right spot which resulted in a lot of deaths for me last night. Need to get used to kiting again!
Yeah, heard about this beauty too. Will try and get it from Kadala if all else fails. Have spent TOO many shards on her trying to get my MoJ with no luck so hopefully with this build, things will be different ;-)
You really want to replace your head with the Quetzalcoatl, otherwise the spec is rather weak and honestly not worth playing at all. That's most likely why you feel little synergy at the time being. I would say that you're better off sticking with your pet spec until you get the head and the Jade chest, unless you're really stubborn about learning the spec beforehand. It's a flat 100% damage increase to use the head.
Damage against elites is one of the more important stats of the Jade spec, as it will allow you to one or two shot packs and champions on T6 (solo, ofcourse). You really ought to replace your Tall Man's Finger with a cold dmg SoJ, even if it isn't the best SoJ out there. Use a Sun Keeper if you have one. Cold dmg bracers and neck will also boost your damage quite a lot, since the majority of your damage is Cold damage from Haunt. Soul Harvest deals it's damage by consuming Haunt and LS on your targets, and therefore the damage it deals is not physical but Cold & Poison, the majority coming from Haunt (Cold)
Haunt damage is great to roll on shoulders and chest, and will boost your damage quite a lot. If you feel like you're lacking survivability on T6, the Uhkapian's Serpent (Mojo) will boost your toughness by an invisible 25-30% as long as your Zombie Dogs are alive. I use this myself over Thing of the Deep as I find it allows me to drop more toughness and gain higher net damage even with the lost pickup radius.
(Handles T6 like a breeze, both alone and in groups. Yes, my spec is slightly different. You can play around with the secondaries of Spirit Walk, Soul Harvest and possibly switching Gruesome Feast. I recommend using the Siphon rune on Soul Harvest, it'll be hard to survive higher torment difficulties without it)
I know the feeling when initially playing the jade build, deaths here and there but i found the best place to practice - Festering Woods > Weeping Hollow > FoM since the mobs there moves slow, by the time you get use to proper rotation of the skills and the correct timing when to SH you can them move to areas with fast moving ones.
I never really went rifting with it until i got it right. the playstyle is totally different from the pet spec where it need practice and timing.

Really good ideas and help here, thank-you Arakai. Will most definitely bookmark this thread so that I can reference what you have suggested.

Good tips too. Random mashing of buttons backfires with this build which makes it that much more intriguing!

Thanks again guys.
