Me? I always feel drawn to the caster pet classes and the classes with a hint of death/disease/dot/poison kinds of damage. The witch doctor fits the bill perfectly. Wish he stood a little more straight though.
Why do you main your witch doctor? And if you dont? Why do you do...do what you do?
personally, when D3 came out, i was drawn to the DH and WD about equally... but my friend and my brother both wanted to make DHs, so i went with WD. i liked the WD because they mess around with zombies and stuff, and locust swarm and wall of zombies were awesome when they did the demo video, so thats mostly what drew me to them. as i played the other classes and what not, the WD seemed to be the best bang for your buck in terms of damage and survivability. sure, they don't have all kinds of burst damage, but i like their ability to sustain. barbs are extremely boring for me, and monks i consider the bike with training wheels on it for new D3 players. i HATE the wizard with a passion, he just doesn't do it for me... and the DH, i like, have warmed up to it more, but i don't like how squishy they are, which hopefully changes come 2.1... that being said, i like the way the resource works with a WD... if you're smart with it, you can murder shit all day.. idk... off topic, i also usually play the black guy in video games... lmao... in L4D2 i always play coach, and i got payday 1 around the time it came out and selected chains, who ironically enough is a black guy... so those are a few reasons for why i'm a main WD
I played DH until I met a WD and saw him melt an entire group of monsters with acid rain. So I put down my DH and made the WD and fell in love. I only recently went back to DH when I realized WD can just AFK with pets and win. Although when one of my friends play for the first time I always rock the WD for entertainment purposes. A huge toad here and there gets a good chuckle out of new players.
1) It's fun! I have played all classes at max level. Something to do with commanding an army of zombie dogs and little dagger wielding psychos is very appealing. Former Necro player from original Diablos. Being a Master Manipulator of poison skills and doing damage over time also is very appealing.
2) I hit a brick wall on my original Vanilla class DH. I got to T4, maybe the intro to T5 and gear options went from fire build to almost needing 6 piece Marauders to play end game. (Which with over 200 hrs into RoS with the DH only found 2 pieces).
3) The build diversity that WD currently has. It's amazing how much 1 or two legendaries on this class makes it freaking awesome. Mask of Jeram, Tasker's, 4 Pc Zuni, SMK, Rheno Flayer, etc. The list goes on. Combine and match a handful of these legendaries and your skills and play style changes. I have had so much fun being able to swap gear out and still be able to stay on the same level playing field in T5 and T6, but have a completely different, yet effective build to experiment with.
People play it because it's op, nothing more, nothing less. There were barley any WD pre RoS then people got wind of them being op, so they jumped ship from there mains.

Thanks for this post.... it doesn't have anything to do with the topic... next time you have a thought........ let it go

Your quoted post actually directly answers the topic question whether you agree with it or not. Your post on the other hand can hardly be considered on topic or constructive.
the fact that you can start creating a cohesive endgame build as soon as you can roll one of the three major masks makes the class and its different playstyles really clear cut and fun to build gear sets for
also i saw a wrathful protector one-shot an entire elite pack in a pirahnado in a 4 man group in t4 and i've never looked back
I play WD because it's the coolest class in the game. Who else goes into battle barefooted and has a little beerbelly???
Yeah, I'm passionate about WD. InvanillaI started as a Barb but quickly got bored by only swirling around and switched to WD. Loved it ever since. And then RoS came and gave us 2 of the best looking skill animations: Bogadile and Wave of Mutilation...
I also like the fact that we have 3 (grin reaper, jade, pet) viable T6 builds. And the pet build has a lot of variations...
I always like to play pet classes , necromancer in D2 for example .
My WD was the first character I made when Diablo was released , I played from release until the January . That is when I realised this wasn't Diablo anymore .
Scroll forward 14 months to the release of RoS and I came back and took up my beer belly fetishist once more
Bexonult - Before making forward judgements, I think you should check out these so called "bandwagon" WDs profiles first, which I think clearly indicates a players main.
I think you will see that I am not one that falls into that category along with plenty of other WDs. Who cares anyway, if somebody wants to switch class because it has become more viable and easier for people to play, then they have the right to do. I don't blame them, for the longest time WDs were pretty sub par relative to other classes.
Just as an FYI - You still didn't answer why the WD is your main, but thank you for letting me know why it is my main.
