Just got my complete Jade set yesterday and was curious to know if I am on the right path. In addition, a few pieces I got early so I hope that I did not screw up the rerolls:
To note: My cc and cdamage on my ingame character sheet are higher than what is appearing. Not sure if they take into account paragon:
My Paragon:
p1: Maxed movement and rest in
p2: Maxed cc and started into cooldown reduction (I felt as the chd was pretty good)
p3: all resist then armor
P4: Max area than LOH
Also as a heads up I have other gear that is good for this build (Sunkeeper, Azurerath, the furnace, unity's) so I have wiggle room.
I did a ghom run yesterday using the Furnace and between locust, pirahna, and Haunt crit somewhere in the range of 333 Mill before even using soul harvest (Interesting note)
Is my set up t6 viable and how can I stop being so squishy - lol.
FYI - Coming from a pet build - It feels really nice to pull off a Nuke, Boom, or whatever u call it.
Tolbert - Thanks - A bit embarrassing but the most needed items for my build right now is yellow crafting materials, lol, hence what you see on my boots is where my roll left off - lol. I will definetely change that up.
I feel as though my sunkeeper is good however I do not have the stats on hand. For Bracers, do you have a good suggestion?
As for Piranha, I will go back to nado.
Should I be concerned with Crit Chance, and should I roll Quetz from socket (which was my reroll) to crit chance?
You need to spend your paragon points on cool down reduction first and then crit chance or crit hit dmg. cool down reduction is the MOST IMPORTANT offensive stats for jade, as you only have 1 shot every 15 sec without grave injustice. you want to maximize your eDps by stacking more cdr
Ok after taking a look at your armory there're couple of things i would suggest.
1) Witching hours won't help you as much as Harrington. attack speed does nothing on DoTs so your sheet dps really doesnt reflect on your real damage. Harrington works best as you can loot corpses, and set up your dots and one shot T6 elites.
2) I would Uhkapian Serpent mojo and use life link zombie dog instead of horrifly. Jade docs are really squishy and dangerous to play as you need to close in to apply locust swarm and you really dont have much survival option besides spirit walk. Would you not like 40% dmg reduction ? (10% from life link zdog and 30% from mojo)
3) This is by far the most important thing you must do. Absolutely use Spirit Vessel instead of jungle fortitude, Spirit vessel gives you that 2nd chance of 3 sec immortality AND it reduce cool down on your spirit walk AND soul harvest. Literally that passive boost both your survival and eDps. There is no reason why you won't take that passive
4) use Sunkeeper, you really don't need mad monarch as white mobs will die even from just your locust swarm. you need to maximize your dmg against elites so that you can one shot them instead of dancing around and wait another 15 sec for the second SH. Hence Sunkeeper is hands down the best in slot. If you dont have sunkeeper use azure wrath or craft utar's roar. Imo Mad Monarch is for lower torment farming, its not very effective on higher torment level.
All - First and Foremost - It feels good to be part of the Jade Community. Nothing feels more satisfactory than seeING and feeling the BOOM!!!! I just left the zoo and wanted to try something different (However I did get hexxing yesterday (Time to power level another).
2nd. Seriously, I wish I had as much help in college as I get with you guys now. I probably could have been a doctor right now - lol. Kudos to all of you!!!!
In terms of gear:
I do keep separate pieces in my inventory to switch ad hoc.
Amulet: waiting on proper upgrade (you can tell from the only yellow item on my char - LOL
Trust me: If i had a Harringtons, that witching hour would be elsewhere lol. I guess I could use string of ears (which I hope i didn't salvage - both) or Hoji Wrap, which I have to admit, that little belt helps tremendously.
Some of the socketed gear, unfortunately, I cannot change as I had to use my rolls for sockets!
Lastly - I'm convinced and newly educated on the ways of the Paragon and skills (i,e, Jungle Fort). I will make all of your suggested changes.
I still want and/or need a damn Tasker, Harringtons, and might as well throw this one in the there: the illustrious, mythical, mysterious, exalted, glorious, godlike, world changing, baby making, SMK
Currently using String of Ears, great Reduction on melee range, should I change it for Harrington?I have a Strongarm bracer with cold, dunno why it's using Auguild's hehe.
Also for WEapon, Utar's would be a better option for weapon instead of my TF?
By the way theOni your gear is much better than mine.
From what I've read regarding this topic, it almost seems as though Harringtons is best in slot (DPS) unless you suffer from toughness, then string of ears or Hoji would be helpful.
If you continue to use frozen piranhas, no strongarm is needed and you should continue to use say Aughilds. Strongarm only procs with Pirahnado for the pirahna spells.
As for weapon choice, u want a weapon that takes you into the # - 2000 range (not including affixes), like sunkeeper, maces, or some even throw in two handers like the furnace.
Haunt affixes and Locust affixes are currently not working but will be working in patch 2.1. Either roll defensive stats temp/perm or leave as is for the patch.
Alot of people have also suggested rolling a socket for helm instead of cc.
So I noticed all the great comments on this thread so I wanted to chime in because I recently completed the Jade Doctor bar exam.
First impression on game play for Jade: I have found that I have had to slow down my play style a bit, which has been fun, waiting for locust and applying haunt to tick before the BOOM!
I have some questions regarding CDR and Area Damage.
I am sitting at 50% CC and only 385 CHD, Would rerolling the 6 CC on helm to a socket be worth it? I know hayabusa said he hasn't looked back since doing it, with me running ToTD would it still be worth it?
How much does Area damage help this build? Maybe I need to do more research on it, I haven't seen anything on Jade WD specifically, but does is calculate the damage from Soul Harvest alone or from the Jade 6pc bonus affect the Area Damage?
Also any tips on the gear I have would beappreciated. I have a lightning immunity ammy that I like using on t6 because pulse, thunderstorm, electric seems to be the hardest for me to deal with. On they Ammy It rolled pretty crappy, Int , Vit, life % and I reroll for 10 CC. My question is if it would be better to reroll that CC into Cold%.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or answers to questions.
Harper - I like your gear - 50 critchance is something i'm trying to get. In addition, I am going to second and support your question by throwing in that I as well have the very same amulet similar to Harper (i.e., Cold Amulet). If Harper and I had to pick one item, what would it be. I assume damage because it can go to 100. Though isnt for every 1%cc is 10 crit?
In part and to support Harpers amulet question, If you roll a shitty though highly defensive amulet, what is the most madatory item to in part compensate.
Harper in my opinion, I would roll cc on the ammy - the damage will come from the crit. In other words once it crits it doesn't uncrit. Or on the other hand, you can compensate for which skill is the lowest (i.e., damage, chance, etc)
FYI - It was hard at first to have to slow it down.
Ya I rolled 10% Crit on the lightning ammy first try, so I haven't tried for CHD or Cold. With my CC being so much higher then CHD I think CHD would be better or Cold, just hard to reroll a perfect roll.
Weapon should always be a good Sunkeeper with +28% against elits
Offhand is not BiS for Jade but decent, a better one is Uhkapian serpent since that one has dmg taken dealt to your dogs.
Belt should be a Hwoj wrap since one of the best skills are "Locust Swarm also Slows enemies by60–80%"
Offensive belt is Harrington waistguard, boost your dps like crazy if you can find something to click before an attack.
and yes, the bracers is fitting the pet-doctor better
Hi, I forgot to mention that my RoRG is on my Pet WD
The Helm, give up on 6% CC rolled after so many tries is hard :/, I'll see my current CC. Wish one droped with socket at least, so I could reroll the speed to CC.
I still didn't have the luck to find a good Sunkeeper =/ My TF have 1464-2020, it's showing wrong on armory.
I have The Mojo that give dogs 28% of my damage taken, will use it now
Well I still don't have any of those belts you mentioned =P Will keep playing haha maybe one drop.

I'm not sure LoH works well on Jade since you dont have anything that can consistently leach life. I would go for cost reduction instead of LoH
