Fully self-found, no pet challenge (read my blog for more details). Just hit A3 Hell, and it's rough. Anyone have tips related to that Act and a WD on HC? I'll even take personal experiences. If you hate on self-found, hardcore, WD's or the fact I'm not using pets, I can buy and ship you some Haterade from the store. Lemon-Lime is my favorite.
Yes, I'm sticking to Solo-play only becasue i very frequently need to pause the game becasue of my son. Believe it or not, those pause-breaks have given me moments of reflection and analysis that has helped.
Having played a SF WD on my first HC playthrough, there's a couple things that stood out for me.
On A3 Hell, you're probably getting close to lvl 60, if you haven't reached it already. Spirit Vessel is amazing because it effectivelly gives you 2 lives. But as a rule of thumb, if you're triggering it in almost every fight (and not just in those oh-crap moments), it's probably a good idea to take a step back and review item power and skill-build.
Always take into account that those Succubi can (and will) lower your Armor by 50%, so particularly in A3, give preference to Vit and All-res instead of Armor.
I tried playing with no pets for a while, but in Act 2. I used Grasp of the Dead (80% slow), Horrify (100% extra armor), Spirit Walk (obviously) and another cooldown defensive active (tried them all, Wall of Zombies, Hex, Mass Confusion) with Grave Injustice. It's not great for killing, but you're almost untouchable (even by Elites) with proper cooldown rotation.
