I'm starting to realize a few things about Diablo 3 and most importantly I've realized that it's not Diablo 2.
The one thing it does have in common with Diablo 2 is that its a rat race. It's an eternal grind. There is no end game, the plot is incredibly short and gets repititve much faster then Diablo 2 did.
I started as a Barb on launch day which was PAINFUL at best. DH & WIZ were so crazy OP that anyone who played those classes got crazy rich (or most anyone) and the rest either played the auction house like a pro, botted, or just plain suffered. I suffered on my Barbarian up to level 52 and then gave up. Decided to roll a DH (after they got nerf batted) and while it was pretty slow and painfull too it wasnt as bad as my experience with the barb.
Then I quit for a few months. Came back to my barb and finished him to level 60, regeared and took on the standard cookie cutter whirlwind build. I was able to do ALK runs on MP0 but I died every other run at least and that was making the runs slow and took away much of the profit.
So I started to think hard about the game and why I was playing it. I want this game to be fun for me. I've realized I do not want to farm for hundreds of hours (and I won't) as that is a chore. I also decided I wouldn't spend real money on the game. I was toying around with throwing $5 into gold because in all honesty $5 is nothing and the time it would take me to get 20M is worth WAY more then $5. But so far I haven't invested into gold.
I want to get each of the classes through inferno and one class to paragon level 100. At that point, at least for me, I will consider myself "done" with diablo 3 and probably only poke back in every once in a while.
So the journey for my witch doctor has started and I'm nearing level 30. My question is, how much gold will I need to invest (at level 60) to make him efficent at paragon leveling in MP0. By effiencent I mean able to do the run within 120 to 130% of the time it "should" take and not dying to every other elite pack.
I have 2M right now and will probably have between 3M to 4M when my doc hits level 60. Assume the following:
I need a complete gear set and I will not be hitting the auction house lottery.
