I just started playing a Witch Doctor and I couldn't wait to get to a high enough level to us Toad of Hugeness. When I did I was let down, it could be so much better. I can think of so many ways to buff this skill without it being game breaking and to make it actually viable. I was wondering what you guys think of this skill in its current state and what you would change about it. Also if there is any lvl 60s who use it in their setup. Thanks =)
The problem is that it's basically the same as Hex but worse.
1.) You can't do damage to the target while it's swallowed
2.) I don't think it works on elites?
3.) Hex has runes that make it even better
So really... it needs something that sets it apart from hex and makes up for the massive negatives. I would say it needs a massive damage overhaul. Maybe 2000% dmg over 4 seconds (I know it sounds like a lot but this is a single target spell that you can't even control). I think it should pretty much kill anything it swallows. That would make it more fun (I still wouldn't use it though).

I must admit that I have used it here-and-there in large multiplayer games for it's ability to CC one mob (along with Hex). However, like Rappgu stated, it needs somthing to set it apart from hex.
Very true, one Idea i had, ( though extremely drastic) would to make it a separate skill altogether. With runes.
For instance, one rune could make your giant toad, lick in a straight line and any mobs in that line
would be damaged, poisoned, and/or slowed, stunned,
another would be to lick and eat all mobs in straight line and spit them out 15 or more yards in front of him while causing fear, and or stun, and maybe a little damage.
I have many more ideas too, lot of potential for this.
But again it doesn't need to be a whole new skill to implement something along these lines.
I agree, it is sadly a brutal skill rune, along with many others such as spider queen.
If you have been keeping up with the patch notes Blizz doesnt seem to care too much about WD at this point in time. They are too busy trying to make sure barbs arnt godly in MP10.
I am thinking of that meme with Johna hill in 'super bad'.
The text would go something like this.
"didn't roll Jay Wilsons favorite class at launch as my main. Fuck me right?"
Lol, I do hope your right and they do come back to fix this. The WD is a blast to play regardless but the only reason I even rolled one to begin with was to build a WD around this Toad skill, but like I said still a blast to play.
I'd love it if they replaced it with a Soul-Lasher style toad that latches on and stuns. Then again, I just want to see a Soul Lasher do something other than kill me in A3
