I've read a lot of people dont use their dogs past the middle of Act 3 in Hell mode.
I'am about to hit Hell soon so was wondering what are people using instead?
I find that towards the end of Nightmare the dogs are starting to melt already.

i sugest grasp of dead with more slow rune, spirit walk, soul harvest and the pasive gruesome fest, those last two can increase greatly your dps.
u can keep only gargantuan for some tanking but dont use any pasive for summons
for aoe acid cloud with aoe increase rune can get the job done
when facing large groups use spirit walk+walk on all of them and use soul harvest then drop a slow and spam acid cloud

Thanks guys, Soul Harvest confuses me a little I'am not exactly 100% sure how it works.
Does it basically give me life like a health globe up to 5 nearby enemies and I get 130int from each one plus extra health if I choose Siphon?
Also does this help with Pierce the Veil keep mana costs down?
Might try it instead of my spiders, so far mana and regen hasnt been an issue.
So Poison Dart and Acid Cloud are my only nukes in Hell?

I've seen a vid on Youtube where a WD was spamming bears to down Diablo on Inferno mode and it worked well but a bit low at the moment to get them.
I did change over to Soul Harvest and the dps boost just melted everything so will keep it there.
Also changed the bombs over to bats so see how that goes.
I did try Piercing Veil but I dont have enough mana regen to keep up with it on longer fights so changed to Spiritual Attunement.
So far so good, thanks for the help guys

I have to admit without pets the class isnt so exciting.
Seems like a more basic version of a wizard to be honest with nothing that really stands out.
Just about to finish Nightmare and its been just that, a nightmare.
I havent struggled this much on any of my other toons at the same point so going to put the dogs back in and see what happens.
Garg. is just getting hammered, bats seem to have a delay when cast which doesnt help, I cant even tell if locusts have been cast so I swapped them back to bats which to be honest frustrated me because of the time cast thing so went with the dogs again.

Mana regen is hurting as well even though I've tried to use as many regen options as possible in my build.
So I'll persevere through to Inferno but the fun factor is slowly slipping away.
