There is no better position though.... After you cast your 3-4 spells you might as well just run in a circle and do nothing. I guess you could keep casting acid cloud, but that won't last long, and you would at least need to change the rune.

The difference in our builds is that I have a skill to finish off enemies quicker and because of that.... I'll kill things at least twice as fast. I also have more mana regen so that I can hopefully (still undetermined) have enough mana to avoid sitting around doing nothing.
You guys talk about reduced costs on spells, but how do you know how much the spell costs when the skill calc only lists them at there level requirement cost? I mean you surely don't think Firebomb will only cost 10 mana do you? It was my belief that spell costs increase as you level. If you guys have some data on spell cost at 60 I'd love to see it actually.

Ok so I'm not getting the gripe with my mana regen, I have 30% max mana renewed with every spirit walk and Grave Injustice. That's a good amount of mana coming back to me at a steady rate. This means I'll be able to regen 60% mana in a 12 second window (assuming I'm going in a fight with Spirit Walk off cooldown) and not including Grave Injustice procs to give me more mana back as well as well as give more uptime on spirit walk.
Assuming Acid Cloud doesn't work the way I intended it I'll simply swap for Zombie Bears, Corpse Bomb or Spirit Barrage.
You can't count on grave injustice for mana because if a majority of your damage is dots then what's going to happen? All of the monsters will die at the same time and you'll get a huge mana return after the fight is over. I like it much better with your new build since you'll be damaging a few targets with direct damage so they will die in the middle of the fight and you can take advantage of grave injustice. While the fight is going on, you'll have nothing coming back unless spirit walk is off cooldown. You're planning on spamming a high mana cost spell, that won't cut it.
The primary skills are meant to be spammed, that's why they cost 5, 10 mana etc. Yes, they will cost more than 5 mana at max level but the % of your max mana will stay the same.
Before we see max level w/ mana regen items (head, dagger, offhand) it's hard to say if you'll be able to sustain this build without a primary skill. You can always change it after the fact though. Also a thing I'm unsure of... can you cast spells while spirit walk is active? If you can't, I'd be worry a bit about using spirit walk every 13 seconds since that will hurt your dps quite a bit.
Personally, I think you'll run out of mana with a 100+ mana spam spell but I guess we'll see?
What was the estimated mana pool for WD's at 60 without gear? I was imagining something in the range of 7000-10000 mana which will be plenty for a 100 mana spam spell IMO. 12 more days!
Took horrify with mana rune, changed rune on Spirit Barrage to make it a more viable spam, dropped Blood Ritual for Jungle fortitude and Grave injustice for Spiritual Attunement.
That's more reasonable. I think you should be able to handle that pretty easily... in fact, I would guess that you won't even need spiritual attunement.
My main issue now is that Horrify seems to be detrimental to Grave Injustice because of fleeing enemies dying out of the range for the passive. Changing to either Gruesome Feast or Pierce the Veil (assuming I can support the additional 30% mana cost).
Or you could change horrify to mass confusion maybe? This would help you get off killer soul harvests as well without dying. With the rune, it's only a 45 second cooldown (still fairly high but more reasonable)

There are 3 unique class items in the game, and the best affix is apparently 150 mana.
Which means in the best case with gear, not skills, you would have 1190 mana.
There are also other mana stats as well though,
+mana regen: max = 14
+mana on hit: max =12
+mana on kill: max =36
